The cottage is located on its own hectare-sized peninsula about 30 km east of Ilomantsi on the Runon and Rajan road, in the village of Mutalahti. On the peninsula you will find an idyllic log cabin with sauna and other buildings. This cottage offers the perfect place to relax and enjoy a holiday close to nature. The space 🏡 The cabin includes: a combined living room and kitchen, a sofa bed for two, a stove, refrigerator with freezer, microwave, fireplace, electric heaters, a TV, and a DNA 5G internet modem. In the loft, there are also two single beds (80x200 cm). Electricity and drinking water are available in both the main room and the sauna, sourced directly from a clean and clear private well. The cabin also features a dressing room, sauna, and terrace. On the terrace, there’s a large grill, and next to the cabin is a separate, spacious barbecue hut, a premium hot tub for 8–10 people, and a guest cabin with a double bed. There is also a separate composting toilet building. By the shore, there’s a large dock. You can safely descend into the water via steps, and the water depth at the end of the dock is about 1.5–2.5 meters, depending on the season. You’ll also find a charming patio by the water, perfect for enjoying the silence of the wilderness. One of the cabin’s shores is sandy and shallow, ideal for younger children. Included in the rental are a rowboat, two seated kayak and life vests for free use. From the cabin, you can access Petkeljärvi National Park by water. There is also a good boat launch area if you wish to bring your own boat or jet ski. On the opposite shore lies Russia, and the border is approximately 530 meters away. The cabin and the peninsula are located within the border zone, which requires the renter to apply for a border zone permit for the duration of their stay. The permits are applied via the Border Guard website. Assistance with the application process can be provided if needed. A valid ID is required when applying, and foreigners must present a passport.
