Description
Balenbouche Estate is a renowned guesthouse, organic farm, heritage site and family home. The 70-acre grounds feature a plantation house, yoga barn, and 18th-century sugar mill surrounded by ancient trees, pastures, and wild beaches. Dining, massages and tours are available. The pitons, hot springs and waterfalls are a short drive away. All our eco-friendly cottages (Waterlily, Banyan, Almond, Frangipani, Calabash and Moringa) are built without screens and cooled by the tropical breeze. The space Almond Cottage is open, bright and airy. Its unique design takes advantage of the natural breeze and embodies our brand of simple tropical living. The house offers two bedrooms (1 king-size and 2 single beds) with adjoining private bathrooms, a decorative kitchen, and a large covered living area/veranda. Our guests love the swinging lounge chairs and the private, semi-outdoor shower built with natural stone! If you prefer not to cook, we also offer meals at the main plantation house on our beautiful veranda or served to you at your cottage. Guest access The entire rental home and the surrounding private 70 acre property is accessible to guests. Meals by reservation are served at the 180 year old Plantation house, where our family also lives. The Estate includes beautiful tropical gardens and trails, the remains of an 18th century sugar mill, and a yoga barn. Three secluded beaches, a convenience store, street food and a vegetable stand are within walking distance. Other things to note Our buildings do not have air conditioning or screens, as they are built in a tropical, traditional and eco-friendly style. Balenbouche Estate is most suitable for nature lovers and travelers wishing to experience authentic island life.
