Tucked away in the heart of the Sierra Nevada Mountains near Yosemite and Bass Lake, the whimsical Halfling House is a one-of-a-kind escape for adventurers, dreamers, and anyone looking for a little magic. The space Some of our favorite features of this earthy inspired home include: - Redwood hot tub serviced and available year round, ready to refresh the weary traveler - Relax by the fireplace* with a cup of tea, or even a breakfast or two! - Propane firepit, a great place to sing your song or reflect on your adventure! - Kitchen fully stocked to cook many a meals, so you can feed those unexpected wizards that might stop by! - Propane BBQ Grill usable year round - Mini split heating and AC units in each bedroom and living room to ensure comfort year round - Starlink Wifi for the modern day halfling who needs to work or catch up with the world and more! *Please note that during the summer and fall months, indoor fireplace is unavailable due to Madera County wood burning restrictions. Dates are subject to change per county guidelines. Since the Halfling House has a heating system, firewood is not provided but you are most welcome to bring your own or use any left over from a previous guest! Bedding/Bath Configuration: Main Level Bedroom #1 with en suite bathroom (toilet and sink only)- One King Bed (sleeps 2) Bedroom #2 with en suite bathroom (toilet, shower, and sink)- One King Bed (sleeps 2) Loft There is no sleeping arrangements in the loft. Loft is NOT SUITABLE for little halflings to venture up to on their own! Other things to note The home does have a few steps inside, and the shower requires a bit of caution. If you have physical limitations or restrictions, the Halfling Hideaway might not be the best option for you. One week prior to arrival, a digital welcome book will be sent via email and text message. It will have your special door code, address, items provided, and much more great info to help you prepare for your trip! The kitchen is stocked with pots, pans, cookware, cups, silverware, and more! Our housekeeping team leaves out salt, pepper, and a can of cooking spray. Friends, family, and other guests sometimes leave spices, aluminum foil or ziploc bags at the home. You are most welcome to use any of these items, but if something is particularly crucial to the success of your meals, we do recommend bringing it along with you. There is a small grocery market just 3 minutes down the road. All linens are professionally serviced for each and every reservation! The linens are washed in commercial grade washers with stronger hypoallergenic detergent than you would find in a residential washer. All linens are then pressed with an iron at 300° F, vs. a standard home dryer that only reaches 160°. You are not likely to find this level of service in other vacation homes in the area. There is no lifeguard on duty for the hot tub. Please use at your own risk. We kindly ask that you shower prior to entering the hot tub. There is one security camera that faces the driveway of the home. Chains for your vehicle may be required to drive in the area in the winter and spring months. Travel Insurance is provided as an option during the checkout process. Please note that as hosts, we cannot protect your trip from flight delays, illnesses, weather, job loss, or other circumstances that may prevent you from making your trip. We truly wish we could! We STRONGLY suggest purchasing some type of Travel Insurance so that you may protect your vacation investment from unforeseen circumstances that may prevent you from making your trip. It's a nominal cost that can absolutely pay off! Due to locked neighborhood mailboxes, we kindly ask you not mail anything to the property. You are most welcome to mail items to our office (Love Yosemite! Vacation Rentals) in Oakhurst. Please reach out to us to make arrangements. Please note that this property is nestled in the Sierra Nevada Mountain Range, a beautiful escape into nature. However, being in such a pristine, natural environment means we occasionally encounter some of nature’s residents, such as ants, spiders, insects, mice and cobwebs. While we take every precaution (including regularly scheduled pest control) to minimize these occurrences, they are a natural part of the mountain experience. Please do inform us if you experience any of these during your stay, so that we have the chance to address them to give you a more comfortable experience. Please do not trespass on the neighboring properties. We appreciate you respecting the local neighborhood! No Smoking- The Smoke Remediation Fee will be a minimum of $500 for smoking in the house and could be higher depending on the extent of the damage. Internet- Peer-to-peer (for example bit torrent) and downloads of copyrighted and illegal material are strictly forbidden by United States law and our internet provider actively monitor these activities. Guests are fully responsible for any illegal uploading or downloading of content and for other illegal activities. By agreeing to the House Rules, you agree to not perform any illegal activities using the home`s internet connection. Any copyright infringement by guest is subject to release of guests information to copyright holder. Simple Checkout Instructions- 1. Check out time is 11:00am, not 10am like most vacation homes up here! 2. We would appreciate a quick scrape and rinse of your dishes. Housekeeping will still go through and sanitize the dishes, but pre-cleaning them really helps keep the bugs/ants away for the next group of halflings. 3. Kindly throw your garbage in the outside trash can. It really helps us keep the critters away! 4. Most importantly, please return any furniture you may have moved during your stay.
