We are situated in a very exceptional place in Jeri close to everything. The apartments are simple but very comfortable and tastefully decorated with pictures that portray our local culture. Each apartment has its tidy and clean private bathroom, a fully equipped kitchen, a hammock and two entrances that give to the smooth sandy courtyard. All apartments are very well ventilated and will allow our guests to feel the essence of what it means to have spent unforgettable days in Jericoacoara. The space In the 90s , Jericoacoara was quite different than it is today , there was no electricity , nor had so many walls , the land divisions were made of wood sticks which were very abundant in the region. The fishing village was very small at that time. A 300 meters away from the town center, but difficult to find due to the dark and narrow alleys and sheep pens on the way… … There was a small plastered house with the most smooth cement floor that was the best and most traditional forró club of that time. At first, as there was no electricity, we would adapt and plug the old fashion microsystem player at the cars’ battery. The illumination was done by kerosene lamps, the alleys were lit with torches. The animation was done alternating the CDs and the best live trio band of acoustic forro of the region. It was very authentic and lively, frequented by locals and foreigners from around the world. This forro place was called Barriga Da Lua " Belly of the Moon " and is still in the memory of those who were fortunate enough to live those moments. Twenty years have passed, energy arrived, the village grew and became sophisticated, the alleys are no longer made of sticks, and the walls became giants, and now in 2016 that house little house that use to promote the best parties in Jeri is no longer far from the centre of the village but in its heart. We became the apartments Barriga da Lua and we continues to open our arms to welcome you, we tried to preserve some memories of the past, uniting the rustic of that time with the comfort we provide today , in a simple way but cozy and authentic. The apartments “Barriga da Lua” are situated in a very exceptional place in Jericoacoara because it is located in a small blind alley, parallel to Rua Principal (the main street) and Rua do Forro. This charming 50 meters blind alley ends up in our apartments; its access is exclusive for pedestrians who lives in the alley or are staying at the hostel next door to us. The fact that there are no vehicle-transiting trough the alley guarantees the privilege of peaceful night sleep, lulled only by the sound of coconut trees in the backyard.
