Description

Wake up above Funchal with panoramic views of the harbour and Atlantic Ocean. This bright hillside home sleeps up to 5 guests across 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms, featuring a private terrace perfect for sunsets and Madeira’s famous firework nights. Enjoy a fully equipped kitchen, fast Wi-Fi, free parking, and a peaceful location just minutes from Old Town and the main roads for exploring the island. Ideal for families, couples, and longer stays seeking authentic Madeira charm. The space Through the main gate and down a short flight of steps, you arrive at the ground floor — a fully equipped kitchen, a dining table, and sofa in front of the TV for slow evenings after a day of exploring. This level has a double bedroom, a single bedroom with a small workspace tucked into the corner (handy for an early-morning email session before anyone else stirs), and a shower bathroom. An internal staircase from the living room leads up to a third bedroom — a double with its own walk-in closet and a full bath. But the moment most guests remember happens just outside that bedroom door. A private terrace opens onto the whole of Funchal: the harbour glinting in the morning sun, the city spread out below, hills folding away on either side. This is where you'll have your first coffee while the city is still waking up, where you'll come back at sunset to watch the sky turn pink over the Atlantic, and where, on firework nights, the sky above the harbour ignites right in front of you. The house spreads across two floors connected by that internal staircase, — a traditional Madeiran layout, and worth keeping in mind if stairs are a concern for anyone travelling with you. Perfect for 1. Sunset and fireworks watching from the terrace 2. Slow mornings with coffee and panoramic harbour views 3. Families wanting space across two floors 4. Travellers exploring Madeira by car — quick access to the main road network 5. Anyone who'd rather wake up to birdsong and banana trees than hotel corridors A few things to know about Madeira - especially for first-time visitors: * The climate is wonderfully mild all year round. At around 300 m, the home sits in a sweet spot — rarely too hot in summer or too cold in winter. That said, pack for all weather if you're heading up into the mountains to hike, where it can be cooler and wetter. * The island is wonderfully green, and that nature comes right up to where you stay. Surrounded by banana plantations as we are, you may come across the occasional insect, mostly outdoors. * Getting around. The house is close to the main roads, so you skip the traffic heading to and from the rest of Madeira. The island is hilly, though, and you'll likely meet some steep, narrow roads. If you'd rather not drive, Bolt is a good alternative — planned ahead, it can work out cheaper than renting. Registration Details 157193
