Rooftop hideaway deep in the heart of South Devon
Rooftop hideaway deep in the heart of South Devon
Description
Nestled right in the center of Kingsbridge, at the top of the hill, just off Fore Street, The Old Printworks is close to everything you need, and is the perfect base from which to explore South Devon. This cleverly designed, light and airy, 'upside-down' house affords interesting views in all directions across the landscape of rooftops, chimneys and spires that characterise this ancient sleepy coastal town. Anyone who stays here feels like they have discovered a wonderful secret. The space The Old Printworks has been cleverly designed to maximise light and views. The Main space is on the upper floor, with a vaulted ceiling and double doors that open out onto the sundeck. This open plan space incorporates the kitchen, sitting and dining area. Down below, on the ground floor is the entrance hall, two bedrooms, and a shared bathroom. The two floors are connected by a unique spiral staircase. The main bedroom has a king sized bed. The second bedroom has a 120cm wide bed, some people call it a large single, some people call it a small double. The house is ideal for solo travellers, couples, a couple with one (older) child, or two friends sharing. Out front there is a small courtyard where bikes can be stored and cable locked to the pillar that supports the balcony. Please note, that Due to the unique design of the spiral staircase, there is no stair gate and for this reason the house is not recommended for small children and babies. Also due to the unique staircase the house is also not recommended for elderly people. We love dogs, but out of respect for our neighbours and the cleaner we do not allow them at the Old Printworks.
