Casa Philae: an amazing shelter in the jungle

Casa Philae is part of my small AMAZONITA Ecolodge in Dos Brazos, a village of gold prospectors in the middle of the jungle in the immediate vicinity of Corcovado and on the edge of a translucent river. High up, surrounded by lush vegetation, it offers stunning views of the rainforest. Its exceptional location allows you to practice many guided or unguided activities on site or in the immediate vicinity (The trails of BOLITA or "El Tigre" are a 5-minute walk). The space Perfect for a couple, Casa Philae can also accommodate up to six people in a large bedroom with a queen size double bed and two bunk beds. They are built of "fallen" wood and bamboo from the property. Located high on a hill and very open to the outside, they offer stunning views of the rainforest and direct contact with nature. You won't need a TV here, the landscape will be your flat screen when you admire the clouds flirting with the canopy in the early morning and the macaws and toucans playing with the dizzying treetops. Like Robinson on his island, you will feel like you are living the first morning of the world every day... At the entrance of the property is the charming restaurant of the lodge "La Cuchara Tica" installed in an old gold digger's house. Experience the great adventure in the heart of the jungle safely and in a very comfortable setting. Activities Amazonita Ecolodge is located in the heart of the jungle, in the "Réserva Forestal Golfo Dulce", between the two arms of the Rio Tigre and 200 meters from an unknown entrance to the Corcovado National Park. This is the perfect place to relax and enjoy the beauty of nature or to practice many activities, guided or not, on site or in the immediate vicinity. The terraces of the houses allow you to observe the flora and fauna of the rainforest from the ground to the canopy. The lodge is located just 5 minutes from the new Corcovado National Park trail and 100 meters from the beautiful Finca Bolita trails with waterfalls, natural pools and breathtaking views of the Golfo Dulce. There are many trails in the jungle, waterfalls including the famous "El Salto", natural showers... You can also meet real gold prospectors and watch birds. Dos Brazos is a world-renowned birdwatching spot... Finally, Dos Brazos is only 20 minutes from Puerto Jimenez and close to the beaches of Golfo Dulce including the famous surfing beaches of Cabo Matapalo. Services at your disposal - Catering service. Zulay offers typical cuisine and international wines in a cosmopolitan, friendly and family atmosphere. Only by reservation (no later than the day before for breakfast and lunch and in the morning for dinner). Possibility to have your meal delivered to your house. For lovers of refreshing swims, the Rio Tigre, with its translucent waters and natural pools, passes at the foot of the property. And "La Bruja", a beautiful little waterfall surrounded by greenery and serving as a natural shower is only a few minutes' walk away. Other things to note Don't think, when you see the mosquito nets in the photos, that you're going to be disturbed or even eaten alive by hordes of hungry insects every night at nightfall! Strangely, although we are in the middle of the rainforest and the houses are very open, mosquitoes are rare. The lights mainly attract a few beautiful insects or moths that are not very disturbing and that you will be happy to take pictures of. Note that there is no internet access in Amazonita's accommodations for the simple reason that there is little or no telephone network where we are and that we would have to invest in very expensive high-end equipment to have it. Instead, see it as an advantage, take the opportunity to observe the nature around you and spend evenings putting the world to rights with your soul mate or friends over a drink or a hot cup of tea. I promise, it's really good… In any case, that's what everyone who stays with us tells us. If you have an emergency, however, be aware that there is still a telephone network with 3G that is pretty good at the lodge restaurant and a Wi-Fi spot, a little slow but free, at the village school.
