The Urban Green House is a modern twist on vintage farmhouse. Our farming roots influence our life in the urban center of Phoenix. We are centrally located, only minutes from downtown, yet we offer gardens and raise chickens. We live farm to table. While you are our guests, you are welcome to enjoy fresh-picked produce from the gardens and fresh eggs from our hens. Our home is light and airy, abounding in natural light, offers ample workspace, and is well designed for maximum sleeping comfort. The space The Urban Green House is family owned and operated, offering midwestern hospitality. Our farming roots run deep - we bring a little farm life to the urban center of Phoenix. We are located 2 miles from downtown, in the historic 1950’s Encanto Estates neighborhood. Encanto Estates offers expansive green spaces, walkable sidewalks, and is directly across the street from the historic Encanto golf course. Our property is on a corner lot, maximizing it’s spacious feel and offering views of the Encanto golf course from the front. Our property offers two options: The Garden House is a fully detached 500sq ft. guesthouse in the backyard. The Main House is on the front portion of the property and offers 1800sq ft of living space. Each are rented separately, but upon availability, can be rented together. The backyard is privately appointed for the Garden House and the front yard is privately appointed for The Main House. The gardens and chickens are for everyone to enjoy. We believe that natural light is essential to optimal health and functioning. We have designed our home with this in mind. You will be greeted by an abundance of natural light entering the home through large windows and triple French doors - flowing from room to room, through double French doors, in the main living space. You will find The Main House stocked with all of the essentials of home: Kitchen: The kitchen is fully equipped with all of the cooking essentials and offers a Z-line gas stove with an electric convection oven, a Bosch convection oven microwave, and a Bosch dishwasher. From the farm-style island, the kitchen opens to a large farm-style table. The kitchen dining opens onto the dining room and dining table to maximize seating. Dining: The dining room offers a piano and the dining table can be converted into a ping-pong table for a little after dinner entertainment. To maximize your relaxation, there is an indoor swing in the living room. Workspace: Each room in our home offers a desk for those who work from home. We offer a printer/ copier/ scanner, office seat padding, and a few of the office essentials. Laundry: The laundry closet offers a full-sized washer and dryer and is equipped with all of the laundry essentials. The laundry closet is in the dining room. Exercise: We offer an elliptical machine with a TV for those who wish to stick to their exercise routines. Bedrooms: We believe that a good night’s sleep is an essential to good health and enjoyment of the day ahead. You will find queen-sized beds in 2 rooms and a king-sized bed in the master. Each of our bedrooms offers blackout curtains, sound machines, and memory foam toppers (which can be removed, upon request, for those who prefer a firm mattress). Our beds are dressed with soft and comfortable sheets, down comforters, and a selection of pillow options. We strive to give our guests a good night’s sleep. We offer personalized hospitality. We live close by and are available to meet your needs, upon request. We look forward to hosting you! Each space is rented separately, but upon availability, can be rented together. The backyard gardens and chickens are shared space. The back patio table and backyard swing are reserved for our garden house guests. The front yard swings and patio are privately appointed for The Main House. The garage is reserved for the Garden House, offering laundry, extra refrigerator space, and parking. The Main House has access to safe and well-lit on-street parking in front, which is the closest access point to the front door. On street parking in our neighborhood is well respected by neighbors. The space in front of each home is respectfully reserved for each homeowner. Most of our neighbors do not park on the street, so parking is never an issue.
