Exceptional location for this 19th-century Maison de Maître on the ramparts of Largentière. For this summer, the large cool terrace under the wisteria will allow you to enjoy your meals (barbecue) with a breathtaking view of the garden, river and château. Private access to the river The house overlooks the pedestrian streets of this medieval town, where you'll find all the shops and restaurants you need. Other things to note Sleeps 35, not 16 as advertised! The accommodation If you're a lover of ikea-style tidy, square accommodation, you're in for a real change of scene! This house was high-tech in 1840! (The 1890s bankrupt switches still work!) Some of the wallpapers are from 1885! This house takes you on a journey through time... (There are 30 beds and not 16 as indicated on the ad because it is impossible to list more than 10 rooms and more than 16 people on an Airbnb ad) (Bikers, a closed garage can hold up to 20 bikes!) Traveler access You have access to the whole house, from the cellar to the attic, via the terraces, the covered walkway and the garden, which are vast and quite impressive... You can park your car on the Place des Recolets, opposite the house, on the other side of the river. (Except on Tuesdays, market day, when you'll find the best local delicacies!) We'll be on hand for your arrival and to give you access to the pedestrian streets so you can unload your vehicle in front of the house. Other information Breathtaking swimming nearby: La Beaume, an exceptional little village on the banks of the river of the same name. Just a few kilometers from largentiere, you'll reach it via the défilé de Ruoms road. It's already the beginning of the Ardèche gorges, and looks like the canyon of the Colorado!
