Poised just one metre from the water's edge, the private estate on Vårholma is reached via a scenic year-round ferry from Stockholm C, a short water journey from the mainland at Lillsved, or private water transfer. From the morning’s organic tea ritual to the final sunset, this is the space for deep, peaceful escape. I. The Rhythms of Wellness Private Sanctuary Rejuvenate in your personal spa space, complete with a dedicated sauna and an ecological spa kit drawn from the finest Nordic herbs and berries. Spa Deck A spacious deck provides an insulated outdoor shower and the option of a private hottub experience (add-on; please book 48 hours prior to check-in). Immersion Wake to panoramic Baltic views and drift to sleep accompanied only by the gentle, rhythmic sound of the waves. Water Exploration The pristine Baltic invites year-round discovery. A provided two-person kayak offers magical mornings where the water mirrors the sky and your only companions are the birds. II. Grounds & Gastronomy Private Seaside Access Enjoy the expansive, lush grounds, which include a small sandy beach area and a private dock with a dedicated lounging space. Culinary Rituals Utilize the portable cooking equipment—including the BBQ and pizza oven—or gather around the seaside fire pit for an evening drink under the stars. Nature & Discovery The landscape is framed by pine trees, wild berries, and apple trees. Guests are encouraged to take quiet walks and forage according to the season. III. Provided Luxuries Your stay is enhanced with thoughtful comforts, ensuring immediate relaxation: - Welcome DIY breakfast essentials (waffles with jam). - Organic teas and coffees, pantry staples, and spices. - Quality linens, towels, bathrobes & slippers. - Eco-friendly personal spa kit and candles for ambiance. - High-speed internet and entertainment systems. - First aid supplies. Guest access The Archipelago Hideaway features an open-plan living area, dining space, and kitchen, creating an intimate, singular space. The small, yet well-equipped kitchen provides everything for delicious meal preparations (please note: there is no dedicated freezer unit). Water from the tap is sourced from our private well, offering very fresh water for drinking. The bedroom holds a comfortable continental double bed and a projector with a connected tablet for late home cinema evenings. Your private deck features the fully insulated outdoor shower (which retains heat for up to 15 minutes at a time) with hot running water, the electric sauna right beside it, a lounge area, and an outdoor dining space. There is also a wood-heated sauna on the property for ultimate Scandinavian sauna ritual which heats up to 100C. Access to a small outdoor grill and a portable pizza oven is provided. The second side of the deck houses your essential facility: the Cinderella incinerator toilet, alongside the hot tub (add-on, bookable in advance), and hammocks, and the outdoor fireplace. The private jetty extends from the center of the deck. The 2-man kayak is located at the second jetty, 30 meters from your accommodation for direct access. At the very end of the peninsula is our sandy beach (note: the beach area is shared with the neighbouring property). Other things to note Provisions & Island Access Vårholma is a secluded island without any stores. During low season, we advise guests to bring all necessary provisions for stays under five days. Essential basics are provided to facilitate a smooth arrival. During the summer months, provisions can be ordered online for direct delivery to the property's jetty (a fee of 400 SEK applies). Tap water is sourced from our private well and is safe and very fresh for drinking. Transport Schedule Ferry departures operate on a seasonal schedule (updated four times annually). Service typically comprises two daily departures per direction (from Strömkajen and Lillsved, one morning, one afternoon). We will gladly assist you with detailed route planning and ferry times for your check-in, whether you are travelling from Stockholm, Arlanda Airport, or by private vehicle. Winter Conditions & Contingency During the coldest winter nights, the outdoor shower is subject to freezing. Should this occur, guests will be granted private access to the indoor bathtub facility located in the adjacent cabin on the property. On very rare occasions (sustained sub-zero temperatures), the tap water inside the cabin may freeze during the evenings when temperatures drop. In this event, large canisters of fresh drinking water will be provided. Amenity Fees & Usage Hot Tub: The hot tub is available for an extra fee. As it is filled with fresh seawater and requires two days for optimal heating, advance booking is mandatory. Sauna: The sauna is available for use at any time throughout your stay. Incinerator Toilet: The incinerator toilet is a common, reliable solution in this environment. Guests must consult and follow the provided user manual before check-in to ensure proper use.
