Description
This place is a winter and summer wonderland. Our cottage is a small 50's style with much character tucked away in the woods. We’re surrounded by the 70,000 acre Sleeping Bear Dunes. There’s plenty of skiing, canoeing, hiking and fishing, peace and quiet. We're on the boarder of Benzie and Leelanau Counties, the best of wine regions this side of the Mississippi and a true artisanal food destination It's a short drive to Honor, Empire or Glen Arbor. Traverse City is 25 miles east. The space This space is small and cozy and ideal for an "un-plugging" get-away. You are next door to our small organic farm. We remodeled the cottage to green building standards for people with allergies and chemical sensitivites and we clean with non-toxic cleaners. Therefore, our NO PETS/NO SMOKING policy is not negotiable. The kitchen is fully adequate for cooking. We also provide a gas grill and a fire pit. REGARDING SERVICE ANIMALS: Due to the fact that both family members and a neighbor that assists with cleaning and changeovers are allergic to dog and/or cats, we are exempt from the hosting service animals under Airbnb policy. We are sorry if we cannot accommodate you for this reason and hope you will understand. Guest access This is a self-check accommodation. The door will be unlocked and there will be keys inside, should you care to lock during your stay. There is parking on site for one vehicle. Second vehicles or trailers can be parked at our farm next door. When you pull in the driveway, which is shared with our house, you'll see the parking on the left and a sign that says "Lemon Drop." That's your spot. You'll see the cottage down a footpath in front of your car and there will be a little red wagon there for you to haul your things. Wifi Network: Lemon Drop Password: Smartpotato517 Other things to note Please note there is an 80 foot path through the woods to the cottage that is not paved. It would not be suitable for people with mobility challenges. We do provide a wagon for hauling your things to the cottage. It's part of the charm. In the winter our work schedules mean we can't always clear the snow in the morning and guests may need to walk through it or assist with the shoveling. We always keep the driveway and parking are cleared. Also, please see our service pet policy under the "Desription" above.
