The Snug - cosy cottage in a great location

This cosy hideaway will wrap you up and offer you a place to escape. Designed to create a peaceful ambience with some luxury touches, whilst enjoying the cottage's natural charms. The Snug is set in a courtyard within the heart of the village. Features include original beams, a comfy sofa, Smart TV, Loaf bedroom furniture, king bed and fold out single chair bed, reading nook, window seat to dine in, walk in wardrobe, walk in rain shower, spacious car park. * Later 11am CHECK OUTS on SUNDAYS The space The building was once a pub at the heart of the village. In the 1980s, it was divided into characterful cottages; The Snug being one of them - it has just been renovated and finished in December '24. After parking in the large car park, you will walk into a courtyard and enter into a shared porch, then enter the door on the left into your private home. Downstairs is one open plan living space with a large cupboard for coats, shoes and other belongings. A milk will be in the fridge so you can make a drink on your arrival. Coffee, tea, sugar, filter coffee, cookies, salt, pepper and cooking oil are supplied. You should find the kitchen to be well stocked, The lounge is snuggily and a cosy place to rest and relax. The Smart TV has hundreds of channels as well as access to the expected apps. Up one flight and you go straight into the bedroom. This spacious room has a fold out single chair bed for a second or third guest. Please ask if you require the linens for this. A large walk in wardrobe means the room stays clear of clutter. The adjoining bathroom has marble wall tiles, brass fittings, a large walk in shower with both a rain head and hand held head. Controls are to the right so you don't get wet until the temperature is right. A heated towel rail can warm towels . There is a comfort height eco flush toilet and above the vanity unity is a light up mirror so you can use this during a night time visit. Outside is a pretty shared courtyard. Across the road is the handy and friendly local shop run by Harry and his team. The two village pubs are within a five minute walk. There is The Ham Tree and the gastro pub called The Tollgate. For lunch, coffee and cakes and a walk around the lake, The Glove Factory is a beautiful spot to enjoy, just a 5 minute walk away. Within a two minute walk is the National Trust owned Courts Gardens. A must see. The Snug is an excellent base to explore the many National Trust properties in the area. Beautiful Bradford-on-Avon is a straight drive approximately 2 miles away. Here there is a host of lovely restaurants and interesting shops. pretty river and historic architecture. Lacock is a ten minute drive in the other direction. A beautiful National Trust Tudor village well worth exploring. Bath is a 20/25 minute drive and offers visitors a wealth of wonderful experiences. The beauty of the city itself is the main attraction. Some highlights include The Thermae Spa, The Royal Crescent and Circus, shopping in Milsom Street, The Saturday markets at Green Park or Walcot Street, The Theatre Royal, Everyman Cinema with luxurious sofas and art deco bar. Other places within easy reach are Longleat Safari Park, Stourhead House and Gardens, Dyrham Park, Bowood House & Gardens, Iford Manor, the pretty town of Corsham, Great Chalfield Manor and Castle Combe. Guest access All of the cottage and shared courtyard. You are welcome to use the seats by number 6, just by the entrance and post box. Other things to note Please note that the single chair bed is narrower than a standard single. We politely ask that quiet times are kept to after 10 pm and that guests keep noise to a level which considers the neighbours. If you wish to use the EV charger, this is in the corner of the car park. Instructions for use are in the property.
