Other things to note ***Staying in the Pocono Mountains*** If this is your first time visiting the Poconos, we want to ensure you understand what staying in the mountains entails. This house is nestled in the mountains, surrounded by trees and nature. As a result, you may encounter wildlife, as this is their home and we are merely guests. Wildlife may include flying insects, spiders, ants, squirrels, flying squirrels, mice, foxes, raccoons, opossums, skunks, snakes, turtles, coyotes, and black bears. Smaller creatures and insects can occasionally find their way inside depending on the outside conditions. We have monthly exterminator visits to minimize this, but being in the mountains, anything is possible. Additionally, please note that the mountain infrastructure differs from that of the city. Small wind or rain storms can occasionally cause power or internet outages in specific areas, including our home. Power outages may affect the water supply as we are on wells and the well pumps need power to work. Usually, these outages are restored within 8-10 hours, which is a quick turnaround given the weather conditions. For outages lasting less than 24 hours, no refund or compensation will be provided. For outages exceeding 24 hours, compensation will be issued on a case-by-case basis. Lastly, please be aware that extreme heat or cold waves can put stress on the house's heating or cooling systems, and these systems may struggle to keep up during very high or very low temperatures. ***Summer Bookings*** During Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day weekend, this is our busiest season. Check-in time is at 5 PM, and early check-in is nearly impossible. If we can accommodate an early check-in, the earliest would be 3 PM. If you need to arrive earlier than 3 PM, we recommend booking the day before to ensure you can arrive any time on your desired day. ***Community Information*** We are located in a private gated community that requires a guest registration form for security and emergency purposes. The form will ask for full names and ages of each guest, as well as vehicle and driver information, including the main registrant's license ID number and the plate numbers of all vehicles entering the community. Names on the forms must match the legal ID of the driver. ***Community Amenities*** (Weather Permitting) Please note that guests will receive 8 amenity badges for the duration of their stay. These badges are required for adults and children aged 5 and above. Children under 5 do not need badges to access the community's amenities. Additional badges cannot be purchased. The community does not allow more passes to be purchased or to be obtained, they cap it at 8. Wristbands are not interchangeable once placed on the wrist; it cannot be removed until the end of stay. Availability of amenities is not guaranteed. Life Jackets: Not provided. ***Security Deposit*** Airbnb bookings do not require a security deposit. If you see a security deposit listed, it is due to a syncing glitch with other platforms. Rest assured, no deposit is needed when booking directly through Airbnb. ***Winter Bookings*** During winter months, it is highly recommended to have a vehicle with All-Wheel Drive (AWD) or 4x4 capabilities due to potential heavy snowfall. ***Supplies*** We provide a starter pack of household essentials (paper towels, toilet paper, garbage bags, dish detergent). If the property includes a dishwasher, washer, and dryer, we also provide cleaning agents for those. Guests staying for longer durations or with larger groups should bring additional supplies. Personal toiletries (shampoo, conditioner, body wash), q-tips, deodorants, or other personal care products are not provided. The house includes cooking ware (pots, pans, plates, utensils, baking dishes), but guests need to bring personal grocery items (seasonings, flour, sugar). ***FAQs*** Q. Can you check in early or check out late? A. Early check-in or late check-out is determined the day before arrival. If granted, early check-in is at 3 PM, and late check-out is at 1 PM at no cost. For earlier arrival or later departure, a $75 fee per 2 hours applies. Booking the day before or after your desired stay ensures availability. Q. Do you offer any discounts or additional discounts?
