Rest and relax in our stylish and serene craftsman bungalow. Perched on a hillside in North East LA’s Mt Washington neighborhood, minutes from trendy Highland Park and just a few blocks from the metro, The Nest is the perfect spot for up to 4 friends. Outfitted w/ designer furnishings, a fully equipped kitchen, wrap-around patio with propane fire pit, and spa-like bathroom with soaking tub and walk-in shower—our sweet little 2 bedroom, 1.5 bath hideaway has all the comforts of home and more. The space Perched high above the street in trendy Northeast LA—The Nest offers the ultimate in design, comfort, and location. This sweet little hillside bungalow is the quintessential creative retreat. This is our personal home. We live part-time in LA and rent it on the weekends when we’re away. We’ve remodeled it from head-to-toe and hope you find it just as cozy and comfortable as we do. * Please note that our home is at the top of a tall flight of stairs, so if you have mobility challenges, knee problems, etc., this may not be the right choice of home for you. As you ascend the stairs to the home, you’ll get a taste of nature amidst the city, surrounded by plants and shaded by the branches of a massive ficus tree. Walking through the front door, you’ll be greeted by solid oak floors, soaring beamed ceilings, and dappled sunlight streaming through the large picture window and front room skylight. The main living space contains a modern leather couch and sling chairs, a cozy dining area, and an open kitchen with stunning maple cabinetry. Stone counters, handmade tile, and exposed shelving add style and charm, while a GE Cafe suite of appliances brings functional style. A charming breakfast bar rounds out the kitchen and french doors lead to a small balcony with a bistro table and chairs—a lovely spot to enjoy morning coffee. The king bedroom has a pitched ceiling and contains a comfy king bed adorned with luxe linens. This room boasts a reading nook and 40 inch flat screen television, and a slider leads to the rear patio and yard. The second bedroom has a plush queen bed, as well as a desk space—along with speedy wi-fi throughout the home—so you’ll have a quiet spot to take care of any work. Like the king room, there is a sliding door to access the back patio. Our main bathroom is always a guest favorite, with its huge soaking tub and walk-in spa shower. There’s an additional half bath next to the guest bedroom that houses an LG wash tower, available to guests who need to attend to laundry. The King bedroom and living room each have a smart TV for streaming, and there’s a record player and vinyl collection in the living room, which doubles as a Bluetooth speaker. The wrap around patio is the perfect place for a coffee or nightcap. There’s a six-person dining table as well as a propane fire-pit for four. Our neighborhood is quiet, safe, and centrally located right next to Highland Park (with tons of popular restaurants and bars), and just 10 minutes to downtown LA, Pasadena, or Burbank. We’re right down the street from a Metro Station and a short drive away from the 10, 5, and 2 freeways. What are you waiting for? Grab your bags and settle into our cozy little Nest. HVAC The house is equipped with central heating and air conditioning. The thermostat is located in the living room. KITCHEN We have a full kitchen with fridge, stove, dishwasher, and microwave. It is equipped with dishes, cups, silverware, coffee maker, pots, pans, and cooking utensils. Please do not put any delicate dishware or glassware into the dishwasher. WiFi The home has reliable, hi-speed WiFi SMART TVs There is a Roku enabled smart TV in both the living room and king bedroom, equipped with Netflix and Disney+ or ready to stream from all of your accounts RECORD PLAYER We have a vinyl record collection and record player. A link to a video on how to properly use the player will be included with your check-in instructions. Please treat it delicately!
