Rustic farmhouse with sauna & safe garden for pets

Situated in the picturesque Seven Valleys region, 1 hour south of Calais, this lovingly renovated old French farmhouse oozes bucolic charm and character. It features beautiful original cement tiles (hence its name, La Fermette des Faiences) and offers a rustic, peaceful getaway for family or friend reunions. The private, fully enclosed garden is safe for both children and pets. Newly installed for 2026 is our "wellness centre" with traditional Finnish sauna and jacuzzi bath! The space La Fermette des Faiences is a spacious 4 bedroom old farmhouse with many beautiful original features, especially the tiles, (after which the house has been named). There are also three fireplaces, one of which is a traditional wood stove in the dining room which has an fully functional oven for baking and cooking! It is worth noting that notwithstanding the house's rural location and rustic feel, there is good, fast internet connection throughout the house thanks to a mesh wifi installation! The house is all on one level, so no stairs need to be navigated, except for two steps up from the living room to the wing containing the main bedroom, main bathroom and laundry room. Unusually for French country houses, each bedroom has its own bathroom. In the case of the main bedroom, the bathroom (which is also the only bathroom with a bath tub) is located next to the bedroom, but accessible from the passage. The other bathrooms are en suite. Additionally, there is also a separate guest toilet (so, 5 toilets altogether!) One of the bedrooms is a self-contained studio (with double bed), which is accessed via the garden. The main bedroom contains a single trundle bed as well as a baby/toddler cot bed, in addition to a king-sized bed. Bedroom 2 contains two single beds. Bedroom 3 contains a king size bed. There is also a comfortable double futon in the living room. Off the garden you will find the games room with a a fussball table, a pool table and ping pong table, as well as darts, croquet, boules and other games. There is also an outside sink and a bar fridge in the games room. Next to the games room is our "wellness centre", with a traditional Finnish sauna (which comfortably fits two people at a time), a jacuzzi bath (which also comfortable fits two!) and a shower. There is a large outside terrace with long table (we call it the Last Supper table!) and garden chairs, a BBQ grill, and another covered area with outside table and chairs. There is also a smaller patio directly outside the dining room, which makes for a delightful spot from which to drink one's morning coffee whilst watching the cows on the hill above! Although located on the road, the house is very peaceful and quiet, also because the garden is completely enclosed on the inside of the property. This makes it very private, as well as very safe for children and pets (both of which are welcome!). We (and past guests!) consider this one of the big plus points of the house. We really hope that the house will be a happy home providing many families and friends restful, relaxing, memory-filled holidays! Guest access The house is fully yours to enjoy ! The owner does not live on the premises. Other things to note A full house book, containing all practical information about the house, as well as the owner's tips on sights and walks and restaurants etc is located in the house, and we encourage you to read it on arrival. Top local attractions include Azincourt (famous from Henry V), the Chateau of Fressin, and La Coupole. There is a trout fishing lake situated literally 500m down the road (where you can rent rods and tackle). 15 KW of electricity/day are included in the booking. Additional use will be charged as the official EFD tarif. A welcome pack of wood and kindling, plus matches and firelighter, is provided for you to enjoy the three fireplaces in the house! There is an entire cupboard of family board games available! There is plenty of free of-street parking at the property. In addition to a regular coffee machine. we also provide a Dolce Gusto coffee machine with a welcome bowl of capsules for your morning coffee! The house is ideally located, peaceful and rural, yet an easy and quick drive to two local towns, Fruges (7 min drive, with Aldi, Carrefour and LeClerc supermarkets, plus bakeries) and Hesdin (10 min drive, with Lidl, Aldi, Carrefour, Intermarche, and our favourite bakery, Sophie's!).
