Armadale Farm Cottage, Armadale Bay
Description
The bones of this cottage are classically Scottish. Joyce Campbell, our lovely owner, has renovated this gorgeous wee home to encapsulate the traditional Scottish feel which we know our guests can't get enough of. Dating back to the early 1800's, Joyce has kept the essential highland feel of this croft in play, while completely rebuilding and refurbing this croft. It sleeps 4 comfortably with 3 bathrooms- so plenty of space! A perfect spot for well behaved dogs on request. The space This property is brand new to market and is a personal favourite of mine. It feels so fresh when you step through the door and the views from every window let you completely imerse yourself in the Highlands. When outside the property, all you can hear are the gentle roar of the waves from the immediate Armadale Bay, which sits just a few hundred meters from the cottage. All of the bedrooms and bathrooms can be found on the ground level, making it accessible to all. There's one classic twin room with well sized single beds with an en-suite shower room. The double bedroom also has an en-suite with a bath and toilet. Joyce leaves some lovely Highland Soap company products in all the bathrooms, but you're also welcome to bring your own. Heading upstairs, the unique spiral staircase leads to a mezzanine area where our lucky guests can find a wee dram or two (on the house) in a snug a cosy space. The lounge area below has a fabulous woodburner which pumps all that lovely warm air up! In the lounge there's a smart TV, plenty of reading material and an attached dining area (which works well if you're travelling for work). Joyce Campbell, our fabulous owner and an award winning shepherdess has used wool from her own flock of sheep to create the soft furnishings in this home. They can be found on the window blinds, curtains, blankets and beyond. You can't get much more local and sustainable. The property itself is surrounded by fields, all owned and managed by Joyce and Ian, usually filled with sheep or cattle. Enjoy a view out of every window, particularly the double bedroom which looks straight onto the immediate Armadale Bay and beach- yes, it's walking distance! Guests will want for nothing while staying in this North of Scotland home with all the usual amenities provided and more. Fresh linens and towels will all be waiting for guests, along with some special goodies our generous owner leaves for our friendly guests. Very well behaved dogs can be welcome on request and with prior agreement for a small additional cleaning fee of £30. Dogs must be impeccably behaved around livestock. With the gates shut, this home creates a secure garden. Guest access The whole property is yours to make yourseld at home! Access is via keybox and there is ample parking directly outside the cottage. Other things to note Dogs must be agreed prior to booking and are subject to an additional £30 per dog. Due to the property being surrounded by sheep, your dog MUST be well behaved (and have excellent recall). We also ask that guests clean up after their dogs in the garden, so all our future guests can enjoy the space.
