Hillside Cottage at Campbell Farm Animal Sanctuary

Escape the city lights and enjoy our peaceful hillside cottage. Stay in the beautiful mountains of Bakersville NC on your own farm animal sanctuary. The cottage is a one bedroom, one bathroom bohemian decorated getaway equipped with a kitchenette, living room with wi-fi and smart TV. The bedroom has a comfortable queen sized bed also with a tv. Cottage comes with all the essentials, soap, toilet paper, clean linens, cooking utensils, AC/heat unit etc. Large deck with propane grill too. The space Guests are welcome to walk/hike the farm property. The cottage is located on 50 acres of farmland. Because of the stairs, this property is not recommended for any person with mobility issues. It is not handicapped accessible. Guest access Guests are welcome to walk wherever they like. We do ask that for the protection of our guests, please stay on the other side of the fence when interacting with the rescue animals. 4x4 vehicles or AWD are strongly recommended. The driveway is uphill and gravel. ‼️WINTER BOOKINGS ‼️ In the winter months, the drive up to the cottage parking area can become very slippery. Please check the weather forecast for Bakersville NC before making your trip and we will reach out and offer a rescheduling of your rental dates if the weather is serious enough that it will affect your accessibility to the driveway. Please be aware that if you decide to continue with your trip during bad weather, you will have to park on the flat area below the cottage by the barn and walk up. Do not attempt to drive up in icy/snowy conditions. We will not be responsible for any damages to your vehicle or body due to the negligence of this warning. If property damages are caused due to this negligence, you will be responsible for the charges. Other things to note IMPORTANT INFORMATION: You must be at least 21 years old to make a reservation and the original renter must be present for the entire reservation. 2 people maximum, unless host approves more beforehand. The hosts live on the property and are available to make your stay more comfortable. Please be aware that there is a short but uphill walk to the cottage from parking. Folks who are not steady on their feet are strongly discouraged from booking the cottage. The driveway is gravel so very low lying vehicles may possibly have to park further away. ***‼️‼️‼️IF SNOW IS EXPECTED, PLEASE HAVE A AWD or 4x4 VEHICLE OR THERE WILL BE A WALK. DO NOT ATTEMPT TO DRIVE UP TO THE COTTAGE. OWNER IS NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY DAMAGES OR BODILY INJURIES CAUSED BY THE NEGLIGENCE OF THIS WARNING. RENTER WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY DAMAGE CAUSED TO THE OWNERS PROPERTY***‼️‼️‼️ Cancellation Policy is as follows: Full refund for cancellations up to 30 days before check-in. If booked fewer than 30 days before check-in, full refund for cancellations made within 48 hours of booking and at least 14 days before check-in. After that, 50% refund up to 7 days before check-in. No refund after that. Please note that the cottage is our main source of income to run the farm animal sanctuary. 100% of the rental fee goes directly to the care of the animals. Please consider purchasing travel insurance should you need to cancel after the allotted time.
