Built on the site of the Harvey Gap mine and a half minute drive to Harvey Gap State Park, this cozy mining themed private guest suite (attached to our home) is a base camp for your adventures. Enjoy a mountain getaway filled with hiking, swimming, kayaking, biking, rafting, skiing and Glenwood Caverns Adventure Park (30 minutes away) by day and the hot springs and fine dining by evening. Don’t miss stargazing under our stunning dark skies. The space Our homestead is just down the street from Harvey Gap Reservoir. The cabin-style guest suite is completely separated and private but there is a shared wall with our side of the house. There is no interior access between the two sides. ⚠️NOISE PLEASE READ⚠️: The bedroom has a party wall for soundproofing and we stuffed all the hallow walls full of insulation, but there is inevitable noise that travels through the floor and walls. We teach our kids to be quiet (or asleep) between 9:00 PM and 7:00 AM and we can try to be accommodating for other hours if you message us! ☆NEW MINISPLIT (1/20/2026)☆ Temperature is independently controlled 🌡 - Independent in-unit washer and dryer 🚰 -Shared firepit: build a fire 🔥 or use the propane version. *Note: Propane firepit is required during wildfire seasons (mostly windy days, summer, and fall but depends) ⚠️ -Two kayaks 🛶🛶 with paddles and life jackets for nearby reservoir only. *Security deposit required, waivers must be signed, and you must transport the kayaks to the lake yourself* - Standard Hot water tank=excessive hot water use could mean needing to wait for the tank to reheat more water ⚠️ - Cell service is sparse but we have excellent internet for your communication needs ✅️ - Smart TV with access to all your favorite streaming services✅️ ☆Sleeping arrangements☆ - Soft queen bed (sleeps 2) -A futon (a firmer option) that folds into a large single bed (sleeps 1 adult or maybe 2 small kids) -Additional roll out pad with cot is available upon request (Please note it is a small space and hard to maneuverwith the cot set up. You will have to drive in front of the house and park out front. We will send a code to the smart lock to unlock the door the day you check-in. Other things to note Once you get close to our home, cell service is sparse (we have Verizon and only get 1-2 bars which can lose service if you drive past our house and reach the reservoir). Also note that GPS maps lead people too far sometimes (google maps seems more reliable). We are below the dam by two houses so if you’re driving north toward the reservoir (most people will be coming from the freeway) and you see the lake/reservoir, you’ve gone too far. Our green and tan house is one story with a gravel driveway on our side and a gravel road in front of the house to reach Prospector’s Place in the back.
