Welcome to the Owl's Outpost, a cozy retreat perched on a hillside that gives the feeling of staying in a treehouse among old towering evergreens. This cabin is thoughtfully designed to provide comfort and tranquility while surrounded by nature. The Owl’s Outpost is a perfect retreat for couples or solo travelers looking for a peaceful getaway, blending cozy comforts with the breathtaking beauty of Mount Rainier NP. The closest National Park entrance is about 5 miles away. Main Living Area The living room is the heart of the cabin, featuring a wonderful electric fireplace. A cozy nook beneath the stairs invites you to curl up with a good book, enjoy a game, or listen to your favorite records on the record player. We have also stocked the space with puzzles, books, and fun games for couples. For entertainment, there is a Samsung Frame TV with a collection of DVDs for cozy movie nights. Kitchen The kitchen is fully equipped for your cooking pleasures. It includes a refrigerator, freezer, oven, stove, microwave, toaster, and all the pots, pans, and utensils you might need. We have also provided basic cooking oils, spices, and a coffee bar to start your mornings right. Bar seating at the counter offers a perfect spot to enjoy meals or chat while cooking. Bedroom and Office Upstairs, you will find a charming bedroom with a comfortable queen bed. The adjacent office space is perfect for those who need a quiet spot to work or journal, equipped with a desk and office chair that look into the beautiful tree canopy. The loft style staircase leads you to the upper level. Please use caution when climbing them. These stairs will be difficult for individuals with mobility issues or pets as they are very steep. Bathroom The cabin’s bathroom includes a shower and is stocked with shampoo, conditioner, and soap for your convenience. Outdoor Spaces Step outside to experience the magic of the old growth forest. Nestled among the trees, the cabin’s woodland spa area features a private sauna and a 2-person hot tub, offering a truly relaxing experience for couples. A beautifully designed fire pit area invites you to gather under the stars for special evenings with your loved one. We are located near the end of a col-du-sac in the Paradise Estates neighborhood, next to acres of DNR-land. We do want to point out that we do have one neighbor (also a short-term rental) to the right of the cabin. You can see this in some of the photos with the campfire. Additional Notes The cabin’s hillside perch and a lighted elevated path with wide wooden stairs leading up to the entrance make it feel like a secluded sanctuary among the trees. Please take care when using the stairs, as they may become slippery in wet or icy conditions. Your safety is our priority, so take your time and enjoy the journey to this serene retreat. The driveway is gravel and short, but steep. This may be an issue for a sedan type vehicle. A convenient parking spot is available at the beginning of the driveway. Guest access Guests have access to the entire cabin and its outdoor spaces. Inside, you can enjoy the living room, kitchen, bathroom, and all upstairs spaces, including the cozy bedroom and dedicated office. Outside, immerse yourself in the private woodland spa area, featuring a 2-person hot tub and sauna nestled among the trees. The fire pit area is perfect for relaxing evenings under the stars. The property is yours to enjoy, with no shared spaces, ensuring a serene and private retreat. The Owl's Outpost has one neighbor to the right which is also a short-term rental. The cabin is situated on the edge of DNR Forest, which has a hiking trail. Other things to note Our driveway is gravel and quite steep, which may pose a challenge, especially in winter conditions. We recommend parking at the bottom of the driveway. From there, you can walk up the steep gravel drive to reach the wide set of stairs leading to the cabin. This ensures a safer and more convenient arrival. There are power outages from time to time around the mountain. We do have a generator that can be turned on outside of the cabin that can be used for powering small appliances and lights during power outages. We are dog friendly, but we do not allow cats. Our cleaner has a serious allergies to cats. Thank you for understanding!
