Cozy house and terrace, center of Surgères

Quiet and bright house in the heart of Surgères, neat decoration and functionality, completely renovated in 2023, it opens onto a large terrace and mini private garden. Warm in winter with the stove in the center of the living room and very cool in summer with its thick stone walls: barrier against the heat wave. It will accommodate a family or up to 4 people for a cozy and well-located stay to explore La Rochelle, Ile de Ré, Ile d'Oléron, Marais Poitevin, Fouras, Royan... The space The 95 m2 house is located in the center, 1 min walk from the pretty market and shopping streets of Surgères, and 2 min further from its castle park. At the end of a small alley, very quiet, you will enter directly into a large living room of 30 m2 bright with enough to sit comfortably around a large coffee table, some storage (shoes)... You will enjoy the Orange Wi-Fi everywhere in the house, Orange Box for TV, bluetooth speaker, ethernet sockets in each room. Then there are 2 open accesses to the large kitchen and dining area, as well as separate toilets. The kitchen is fully equipped (fridge, freezer, induction table, oven, microwave, dishwasher, Nespresso, piston coffee maker, kettle, toaster, washing machine...), cutlery, utensils, dishes, tea towels... It opens via a large bay window onto the 25 m2 terrace, where you will find a dining area and a relaxation area with Chilean chairs, a BBQ, (and a shade sail that you can't see in the photos). The flower garden brings freshness and some tomatoes if you come in the right season! The outbuilding overlooking the terrace will remain closed during your stay. Access to the outside (at the back) is private through the house and by a path enclosed by a gate invisible from the street. Upstairs, a landing overlooks an office space, bathroom and 2 bedrooms. The main one has a 160 cm bed, dresser and rack available for your clothes, the 2nd attic bedroom has 2 twin beds, which can be arranged according to your preference, shelves and hanger corner for your clothes. I provide sheets, pillowcases and shower towels. The bathroom has a walk-in shower 80 x 150 cm, a sink and a toilet area, hooks, towel warmer, shelves, hairdryer. Guest access You will have access to the entire house, as well as the enclosed exterior. Surgères train station is a 12-minute walk away, I can pick you up by car (5 min). Well located, you can't hear the trains from the house. This station is served by the TGV Paris direct in 2 hr 15 min - 2 hr 35 min depending on the stops. TERs serve the entire region (La Rochelle in 15 min), and buses also serve the island of Oléron. If you come by car, you can park on the street (20 m from the house, the street is very quiet, you can stop in front of the driveway while you unload your luggage), or at the various nearby and free parking lots, including the one at the train station. I will provide information to help you get around. Between 25 and 40 min, you will be in La Rochelle, Rochefort, Ile de Ré, the Poitevin marsh, Fouras, ... And 1 hour drive, you will be on the island of Oleron, Royan, Cognac ... Other things to note Please let me know in advance if you need a travel cot or other special equipment, I will find it for you. I don't allow pets, the house being entirely parquet, and for the peace and quiet of the neighbors. You can smoke on the terrace, outside, an ashtray will be available. If you use the BBQ, I don't include it in the cleaning, I'll ask you to clean it.
