Unique mountain village getaway

Our tiny village of about 100 residents is just 12 miles east of Truckee and 15 miles west of Reno. No stores or gas stations allow for quiet solitude, friendly people and lots of stars. The separate entrance leads to your private bedroom and bathroom in the basement of our 125 year old house. Sink into the comfy CalKing bed warmed by the heated mattress pad after a day of skiing, hiking, fishing or bike riding along the Truckee River or in nearby Truckee or Lake Tahoe. The space Your private room and bathroom are accessed from a separate entrance through our shared laundry room in the basement of our home. You are welcome to use the laundry facilities. New!! We now have a small 2-person hot tub for your enjoyment on the shared deck. You are welcome to use it at your leisure. Wrap up in the terry cloth bathrobes to stay warm after your tub. Your refrigerator will be stocked with a few amenities to get your started on your vacation. If you need to store your ski equipment, we are happy to provide a space for that. Floriston is a unique little town quite unlike anything you may have experienced before. If you like getting away, this is the place for you. Away from the hustle and bustle, you can walk to the Truckee River for hiking, biking, fishing, rafting or just sitting by the river. Access to the Tahoe Pyramid Biking/Hiking Trail is just steps away. Like to get away? Truckee, Reno, Lake Tahoe, Northstar, Palisades, Sugar Bowl and Boreal are all within a 20 to 30 minute drive. In the summer, feel free to make use of our awesome deck areas featuring our fire table and many comfy places to hide away with a book or just to watch the birds throughout the property. The hot tub is surrounded by the garden of flowers and is sure to relax you throughout your trip. Winter may find you in the hot tub soaking away those tired muscles, maybe even watching it snow. After the hot tub, sit around the outdoor propane fire ring with a glass of wine or a cup of hot chocolate as it snows. Cuddling up in your room all warm and cozy is the perfect way to end the day. We love to visit but will not bother you unless you need something. You may hear us walking around upstairs in the main house. Our little slice of Paradise is something special that you will want to return to again and again for its solitude and beauty. Guest access In addition to your room and bathroom, you are welcome to use our decks during the spring, summer and fall. The hot tub is available all year long. BBQ is available for your use. While our kitchen is not shared, we would be happy to accommodate you if you wish to BBQ. The laundry area is open for your use. There is also a freezer next to the dryer in the laundry room for your use. If you need to store your ski equipment, we can accommodate your request. During your stay Our goal is to make your visit so memorable that you will want to return. We love visiting with new people and giving advice of where to visit in our beautiful little slice of paradise. We will help you with anything you might need while you are with us. Other things to note Please be aware that the winter months may require some snow shoveling if we are not at home to access the driveway and the house. In addition, AWD is often required to get to the house in the winter.
