This modern cottage in Kilpisjärvi combines Scandinavian design and nature harmoniously. The space The splendor and peace of Kilpisjärvi's nature are tangible in this holiday destination, completed in 2024. Designed by architect Teemu Hirvilamm, a wooden cottage is located at the foot of Salmivaara, offering stunning views of Ala-Kilpisjärvi. The building honors the Scandinavian tradition of wooden construction, combining a minimalist and spacious aesthetic. Almost all of the cottage furnishings are handcrafted by a local carpenter and most of the other decor items are carefully curated recycling design. The heating of the cottage is managed with eco-friendly geothermal heat, and the atmosphere is created by the Tiiler toilet oven. The centerpiece of the living room is a large dining table that can accommodate a larger group. The cottage has three bedrooms in the main building and a laver inspired by a wilderness cottage in the tranquility of the side building. The specialty of the washroom is the Japanese sitting shower next to the regular shower for a special moment of relaxation. The selection of the cottage library extensively covers batch fiction and northern stories. The kitchen is fully equipped and has both a set of 12 people and high-quality utensils for cooking and baking. The cottage berths are shared as follows: In the main cabin: Bedroom with 160cm double bed Bedroom with 2x80cm beds A sleeping alcove with a 100cm bed In the side cottage: One wide sleeping room with 3x 80cm mattresses Guest access The entire main cottage is available to the guest, as well as a room in a side building with its own separate entrance. The two buildings are connected on the terrace. Other things to note Bed sheets, towels, and final cleaning are included in the price of the stay. There is a cottage folder on site with practical instructions for your stay, as well as tourist brochures of Kilpisjärvi.
