This modern cottage in Kilpisjärvi harmoniously combines Scandinavian design and nature. The space The beauty and tranquility of Kilpisjärvi's nature are within reach at this holiday resort, which was completed in 2024. Designed by architect Teemu Hirvilampi, the wooden cottage is located at the foot of Salmivaara, offering stunning views of Lake Ala-Kilpisjärvi. The building respects the Scandinavian tradition of wood construction, combining minimalist and spacious aesthetics. Almost all of the cottage's furniture is handcrafted by a local carpenter, and most of the other interior elements are carefully selected recycled designs. The cottage is heated with environmentally friendly geothermal heat, and the atmosphere is created by Tiiren's pot oven. The centerpiece of the living room is a large dining table that can accommodate a larger group. The cottage has three bedrooms in the main building and a hermitage-inspired loft in the tranquility of the outbuilding. The specialty of the bathroom is the Japanese sitting shower next to the regular shower, which offers a special moment of relaxation. The cottage library's selection covers a wide range of wilderness literature and northern stories. The kitchen is fully equipped with dishes for 12 people as well as high-quality cooking and baking utensils. The sleeping places in the cottage are divided as follows: In the main cabin: Bedroom with a 160 cm double bed Bedroom with 2 x 80cm beds Bedroom with 100 cm bunk bed In the side cottage: One wide sleeping alcove with 3 x 80 cm mattresses Guest access The guest has access to the entire main cabin as well as a room in the outbuilding with its own separate entrance. These two buildings are connected by a terrace. Other things to note Linens, towels and final cleaning are included in the price of the accommodation.
