Chateau Magnolia Executive+Fabulous Porch+Parking

Finally finished major renovations on this old beauty; it’s our largest+nicest home so far and it’s in the same wonderful tree-lined neighborhood as all the others. 3200 sqft of family-friendly, comfy vintage French regency w/awesome hang-out spaces both inside+out; all under a massive Magnolia Tree. There’s a gourmet kitchen, vintage baby grand, gas fireplace+lovely master family suite upstairs w/ feather day bed + original clawfoot tub. Make awesome memories at this wonderfully unique home. The space Our most extensive renovation to date; this 1920’s house is comfortable and functional. Come on in! Just inside the front door is a vintage Singer sewing machine then off to the right of the entry a screened-in front porch with 4 rocking chairs and blankets when needed. The large living+dining room is beautiful, bright and cozy too with original built-ins, fandeliers, a vintage victorian mantel surrounding the gas fireplace, old leaded glass bookshelf doors, a “The Frame” smart TV and a baby grand piano. There’s a large real leather Chesterfield style sectional that could provide additional sleeping space when needed and a vintage Victorian rocker. The oval solid walnut dining room table from England seats 8-10 but the area can accommodate 14 when using the nearby built-in window seat and TV trays provided as optional seating; probably best for older kids. The gourmet kitchen has a 48” stainless gas Wolf range, built-in Subzero refrigerator+freezer, huge counter-height island with bar sink and 6 stools, a breakfast nook and corner coffee station made from a vintage pie safe too. The nearby laundry room is complete with extra large washer+dryer, small sink, old fold down ironing board hidden in a cabinet door and though there’s a full bathroom nearby, a very small water closet designed mostly for kids. Just off the living room is the only downstairs bedroom with vintage King brass bed + en suite bath with walk-in shower. It was designed with our older guests in mind who prefer to bypass the upstairs. The sunny-in-winter but shady in summer south-facing back porch has an outside kitchette with downdraft JennAir range, bar sink, air fryer and dining table with 8 chairs, a large stainless gas grill and comfy couch. Step down to the backyard with large sectional and propane fire pit. There’s also a darling petite baby grand piano-turned into a planter under the huge orange tree in the middle of the yard and in the rear stands the massive and magnificent but much-of-the-time-messy Magnolia; the namesake also for its separate 1940’s mother-in-law unit in rear (also an Airbnb called Cottage Magnolia). It has its own parking, fencing and entrance from the alley. Its bedroom windows face the back yard but are frosted so both places have complete privacy. The upstairs master (also called the family suite) has vaulted ceilings, a king bed, with very nice mattress, smart TV inside a massive vintage French armoire, a chaise lounge where a small child could sleep and direct access through French doors to a spacious master bathroom featuring large shower and vintage clawfoot tub. On the opposite end there’s also an attached room with door that has a twin rollaway bed that can be stored and a crib available too. It also steps down to a lovely comfy reading room with feather daybed that could work well as a toddler play area and/or another sleeping option. PLEASE NOTE: anyone sleeping in those additional areas would have to walk through the master bedroom. There are three other smaller bedrooms upstairs; one with a king white iron bed, the other a vintage twin daybed with trundle that walks out to a small but wonderful sunny-in-the-winter south-facing rooftop terrace. It has a round outside daybed and a bistro set for coffee, lunch or wine. There’s also a “tween/teen” tv room with Nintendo Mario Kart and large modular sectional that easily turns into a giant bed sleeping a couple, several siblings or maybe cousins. Though there’s a mattress topper provided it’s probably not the most comfortable sleeping option though the TV might increase its popularity. There’s an additional 1.5 bathrooms with shower, two toilets and a makeup area available to those upstairs guests. Guest access Guests of Chateau have access to its long but very narrow driveway, front and back yards + porches but not to the garage. Alley + side gates may be locked. This property has a small back house at the rear called Cottage Magnolia also available through Airbnb. It has its own covered parking, entrance and private yard accessible only through the alley. Other things to note Are you short on time or a “JUST GIVE ME THE GIST, I DONT NEED ALL THE DETAILS” type person? (I am:) Then the “ALL CAPS” below are for you. However if you want or need more then feel free to read the rest:) This place is really fit for ONLY 10 people; an 11th, 12th (possibly more depending on age and bedding needs) and/or dogs may be allowed for the extra fee below. EXTRA PERSONS, KIDS AND ANIMALS including most breeds of adult dogs (NO CATS or PUPS under 2yrs old please); $100/night or $400/week PER ANIMAL cleaning fee or EXTRA PERSON fee BUT please MESSAGE ME FIRST with age of child/breed of dog BEFORE booking. IF ITS CHEAPER TO PAY THE WEEKLY AMOUNT, just remind me and I will refund the difference through Airbnb’s Resolution Center or manually change the amount due BEFORE YOU REQUEST RESERVATION. -ALSO, YOU MAY HAVE NOTICED that our BEDDING and TOWELS are WHITE; I’m sort of a bleach freak and love to offer nice quality, extra clean linens. So if you allow your kids to eat + drink or your dogs up on the furniture or beds, maybe cover and protect them with a blanket first or just ask and I’d be happy to lend you some older imperfect sheets I save for just that purpose. Most stains come out when laundered, however dirt from muddy paws, greasy foods and make-up usually don’t and the cost to replace them will be passed on to the guest. There is also a brand new very nice real leather sectional that claws can scratch so let me know if I can lend you something to protect it. AND PLEASE DO NOT BATH YOUR DOG IN OUR TUB OR SHOWER; their hair is tough on the old plumbing. There’s a pet store in town where you can do that for free. LASTLY, YOUR DOG MAY NOT BE LEFT INSIDE OR OUTSIDE UNATTENDED. If you must leave them FOR A SHORT TIME, please bring a crate or ask as I am happy to provide one. SERVICE ANIMALS: As per Airbnb‘s terms of service we are happy to welcome your animal. -Is the assistance animal required because of a disability? What work or task has the animal been trained to preform? We have strict guidelines for those who would like to bring an animal: -They are NOT ALLOWED TO BE LEFT UNATTENDED at any time; not even in a crate. You must take the animal with you anytime you leave the house. -The guest remains liable for any and all damages caused by their service animal. -You and your service animal will be asked to leave if we discover misrepresentation of a pet as a service animal. We will report fraudulent claims of service animals to government authorities and evict guest(s) without issuing refund. IF ANY EXTRA PERSON(s) NOT ON RESERVATION SHOWS UP OR WITH A PET WITHOUT FIRST CLEARING IT WITH ME, YOUR RESERVATION WILL BE CANCELED AND NO REFUND GIVEN. Sorry to be so strict, but there have been way too many dishonest people, parties/gatherings too large for our old plumbing to properly handle. And PETS are NOT allowed on property without prior permission. PLEASE FORGIVE ME IN ADVANCE FOR ALL THE QUESTIONS I MAY ASK; we put a lot of time and money into our places and first want to make sure it’s a good fit for all involved. My hubby thinks I’m crazy for allowing them but I believe there are responsible furbaby parents out there that love to travel with their pets, appreciate a very nice place and are willing to jump through some hoops and pay for that option. IF THAT’S NOT YOU, please look for another home. ***ADDITIONAL (strictly enforced) HOUSE RULES and FEES if BROKEN: Sorry, I know these may seem overbearing and unnecessary but Airbnb says I need to post them here with fees if violated so there’s full-disclosure then those who disregard them will be charged) -NO SMOKING or pot inside $500 -NO PARTIES, gatherings or unauthorized events $1000 -NO UNREGISTERED/UNDECLARED EXTRA GUESTS not included in total OR ANIMALS on property; $100 each per day plus reservation will be canceled and no refund given. -IF YOU ARE AUTHORIZED TO BRING AN ANIMAL please do not leave it unattended. -MAKE A MESS PLEASE CLEAN IT UP. Excessive and unexpected ADDITIONAL CLEANING FEE /ODOR REMOVAL of $500 will be passed on (if we can’t get a professional cleaner or odor removal service with invoices same-day; instead I pay my housekeepers overtime in order to get it clean and ready for the next guest then we don’t have to cancel their reservation. -LATE UNAUTHORIZED CHECK-IN OR CHECK-OUT $250 NO THIRD PARTY BOOKINGS currently… however I am working on a hard copy House Manual for each place so all guests will have access to helpful + important information. Right now the person who books must arrive first AND stay since they have all reservation, check in details and house rules at their disposal. AIRBNB NOW ALLOWS OTHER GUESTS to be invited and added to the reservation which gives them full access to everything needed including the message thread but if that’s not an option for some reason don’t hesitate to ask before booking and we may be able to get creative. NO VIDEO OR PHOTOGRAPHY on property without permission. WE HAVE THE RIGHT to immediately enter house to remedy an issue you bring to our attention. SECURITY CAMERAS with recording devices have been added outside in parking and entrance areas at all our properties. If they are disabled you will be asked to leave immediately and without refund. Crime is not a problem in our neighborhood unless you accidentally leave your vehicle unlocked with tools or valuables inside so don’t! Hopefully these cameras will be a good deterrent to any and all illegal activity. Speaking of ILLEGAL ACTIVITY; none will be tolerated; COPS WILL BE CALLED AND YOU WILL BE ASKED TO LEAVE IMMEDIATELY AND WITHOUT REFUND. If our CHECKOUT OR CHECKIN times are inconvenient, don’t hesitate to request a bit earlier check-in or a little later check-out. Many times we have 6-8 same day changeovers and that’s daunting for the housekeepers. If they have a normal day then we’d be happy to try to accommodate you a bit (1 HOUR MAX ON EACH END PLEASE) Otherwise, thank you in advance for understanding and honoring our posted check-in and check-out times. HOWEVER, if still available, you can always book the night before or after and then arrive or depart whenever you’d like. Or with some notice, WE CAN POSSIBLY HAVE IT READY BY NOON for half the nightly rate. But we simply can’t clean most places inside and out properly for you or the next guest if we don’t stick by the posted check-in and check-out times. Also, it doesn’t help to request either way in advance as there are generally last-minute bookings. NEED JUST THE DOWNSTAIRS and all the other wonderful spaces inside and out with King bedroom, en-suite bathroom and half bath too? (Last-minute bookings only please) We can reduce cleaning fee by $100 which will be refunded through Airbnb’s resolution center after checkout… but you’ll need to remind me:) SUNDAY SPECIAL: if you’re booked for Saturday night AND SUNDAY NIGHT IS STILL OPEN ON CALENDAR you may be able to take advantage of the “SLEEP-IN-STAY-LATE SUNDAY SPECIAL”; just let me know before checkout time and I’ll eventually request $50(0-1 bed), $75(2-2.5 bed) $100(3-4 bed) $150(5-6 bed) through Airbnb’s Resolution Center so you can use your preferred payment method; YOU CAN THEN STAY AS LATE AS 3PM; otherwise HOUSEKEEPERS WILL BE THERE AT 10AM. There’s a 1 DAY MINIMUM BUT A 30 DAY MAXIMUM currently in the booking setup. You can reserve multiple months but my preference is to book each separately and charge an additional cleaning for each month which we will then do at your convenience. This works best for us maintaining the home, watering inside plants and most guests appreciate the midstay cleaning and bedding change. BUT feel free to appeal if you don’t; I’m always open to reconsidering and can change the booking setting for you. STAYING FOR MORE THAN A WEEK? Happy to send over a housekeeper a few times FREE OF CHARGE to tidy, restock paper products and bring by fresh towels whenever it’s convenient. I’ll have her check the plants with meter and water them too. ACTUAL ADDRESS WILL BE SENT 30 MINUTES BEFORE CHECK IN. Our homes do not show up accurately on Airbnb‘s location map so PLEASE MESSAGE ME AGAIN THEN AND EXACT ADDRESS WILL BE SENT along with directions, helpful tips on where to park as well as the keyless entry code. (You can use “Downtown Turlock” in GPS before then, but if this causes anxiety, please don’t book; it’s how we do any last-minute additional deep-cleaning, watering and make sure yards and outside living spaces are ready without having to disturb you later. Plus, once I know your ETA I can stay by my phone just in case you get lost or can’t get inside for any reason. SO PLEASE MESSAGE OR TEXT when you’re 30 min away from DOWNTOWN TURLOCK. AND THANK YOU in advance FOR NOT SHOWING UP EARLY; it sort of freaks out the housekeepers. BUGS AND SPIDERS: I am personally more concerned about the toxic chemicals used when spraying to kill and prevent such things especially when kids and pets stay. So please keep that in mind BEFORE booking. However, we proactively clean and vacuum any webs and use bait whenever possible but just a heads-up, you STILL may occasionally see these critters; especially super small black sugar ants; they seem to be everywhere in our beautiful valley. FREIGHT TRAINS: if you’re not familiar with Downtown Turlock (as well as most Central Valley towns) there are trains that run through day and night. Those that live here don’t even notice their warning whistles however others, especially out of town guests might. Some think it’s wonderfully nostalgic yet others may be startled by the unfamiliar noise. MINUT HAS BEEN INSTALLED on ceiling in each of our homes; it offers protection against break-ins but it doesn’t invade privacy. It also monitors, noise, humidity/mold risk, temperature and automatically sends notifications when any are excessive. Please do not tamper with the unit or an alarm will sound and notification sent. ATTIC/WHOLE HOUSE FAN is installed upstairs in this house but it can only be turned on remotely. If you’d ever like fresh air just text me and I will make sure you have windows farthest away from fan open and then turn it on without having to disturb you. You’ll just need to remind me to turn it back off before you close the windows! **Please note: the DETACHED GARAGE is used for Airbnb supplies and repairs and housekeeping and maintenance may be accessing it from time to time. This will not interrupt your stay though as garage is outside the picket fence gate. INTERESTED IN AN APPROVED EVENT or GATHERING using house and yard with up to 30 people including house guests? PLEASE MESSAGE me with your details but basically there’s an additional $500 cleaning/garbage haul away fee as well as $100 per additional person not included in reservation. So if 10 people are on the reservation and one night you’d like to have an event with a total of 30 people it would be and additional $2500. Also there are parking restrictions for that large of a group as not to inconvenience our wonderful neighbors. Basically they would need to park around the corner on the side street then walk 50-100 feet to house. BRIDES: this is a lovely place to have you and your attendants all get ready together but honestly all the hairspray and makeup can be hard on my cleaners. So if you go above the standard occupancy of 10 then it will still be $100 per additional person per day but if more than 14 it will be considered an event with the additional charge of $500 cleaning fee. It can also be a MOST beautiful place for professional photos but please ask first. AND IF THIS PLACE IS AVAILABLE LAST-MINUTE but you are not staying there, (spring-fall only) you can also rent just the downstairs, (upstairs not included) which includes 1.5 bathrooms, laundry room with utility sink, huge gourmet kitchen, living/dining room with baby grand piano, fireplace, master bedroom/bath, front and back porches and yards with outside oven, large gas grill, fire pit+ sectional, comfy couch, covered table with additional and miscellaneous seating + tables inside and out for up to 30 people either from 6-9 pm for dinner or 11am-2pm for lunch or maybe a kid’s birthday party instead during those hours? Either option is $100 per person for 3 hours and we’ll haul away your garbage for free. So if you wanted to host an engagement party from 6-9pm with 20 people it would be $2000 with no additional cleaning or garbage haul away fees. PARKING WOULD ONCE AGAIN BE RESTRICTED to just in front of the house, driveway and on the nearby side street. It would be the bookers responsibility to pass on those details to all their guests. VISITING YOSEMITE? It’s a perfect stop over; halfway between the Bay Area and that most amazing national park! BY REQUESTING A RESERVATION IN ANY OF MY HOMES, you are confirming you have read and are agreeing with EVERYTHING disclosed and are willing to pay the attached violation fees if HOUSE RULES are broken. If not, PLEASE DO NOT REQUEST A BOOKING. MOST KITCHENS have beyond the basics and are stocked for cooking. However, we also offer other items to those who request them first free of charge. (If you see any of the following items in a listing photo, please know they may be kept at that house but can be requested then moved to another one.)
