The campino is a cultural icon of Ribatejo, linked to the land, animals and bullfighting. They work with wild cattle and horses, and are guardians of regional traditions, passed down from generation to generation. Their ability to handle bulls earns them respect, especially in rural communities. With their characteristic clothing, the campino symbolizes the identity of Ribatejo. Today, they are a frequent presence at events that celebrate traditions, such as the May Fair in Azambuja.
