Description

Apartment where Davide has brought to light, by patiently sculpting the wall, the original 16th-century marble columns of the ancient residence of the Landfogts. 2 minutes away: Pozzon bathing waterfall and Ticino grotto. Restored portico on the ground floor and relaxation area on the Osogna square. Experience the Thermal Contrast Ritual, an ancient local wellness practice. TICINO TICKET included: free travel on public transport throughout the canton. The space Located on the second floor of a lively building in the historic center of a small village. It consists of a vintage kitchen with a dining area, a living room with a sofa bed consisting of two stackable single beds, a bedroom, and a room with a toilet and a bathtub that serves as a shower. On the ground floor, guests can take advantage of a small porch with a shaded area by a vineyard, with a table and chairs and deckchairs. Casa alla Cascata - An immersive experience in the ancestral energy of Ticino Set in the historic square of Osogna, this residence that originally belonged to the 16th-century Landfogt (bailiffs) residence complex offers 3 apartments where history and nature come together in a transformative experience. A continuous dialogue with water As the name suggests, Casa alla Cascata lives in symbiosis with the nearby waterfall and its bathing pool. The eternal roar of the water, considered a gateway between different dimensions in ancestral beliefs, creates a sound frequency that gently accompanies your stay. Architecture that respects the soul of places The apartment is located on the second floor of this historic building in the center of Osogna and consists of a vintage kitchen with a dining area, a living room with a sofa bed (consisting of two stackable single beds), a bedroom and a room with a toilet and bathtub that also serves as a shower. On the ground floor, guests can enjoy a porch with an area shaded by a vineyard, furnished with a table, chairs, and deckchairs – a cool corner to relax on summer days. Renovated according to the principles of slow architecture, the house retains the architectural features of the time. We restored it with a vintage touch, deliberately leaving obvious traces of a previous restoration and without adding too much modernity. The materials and finishes have been left bare and raw on purpose, a grunge-style choice that can give the impression of not yet being "finished" or still being under construction – but this is precisely our aesthetic vision that creates a dialogue between different eras that coexist harmoniously. Art and testimonies of the past During the renovation, Davide and Clara carried out historical/archaeological surveys and chose to highlight them. In the Cascata 1 apartment, Clara engraved her own logo, an archaic symbol, digging into the plaster until she reached the original layer of the 1500s, creating a tangible bridge between present and past. In the Cascata 2 apartment, Davide brought to light, like a patient archaeologist, the marble columns of the original 16th-century house inhabited by the Landfogts, gradually sculpting the wall that hid them. On the ground floor, the porch that had previously been entirely walled up has been freed, rediscovering an original architectural element and offering a shaded space on the square available to guests. This versatile space is transformed in the winter into a relaxing room with sauna, while in summer it becomes a cozy studio apartment. Staying here means witnessing a continuous rediscovery of layers of history. Natural wellness at your fingertips A short walk from the house you can experience the ancient Ritual of Thermal Contrast: alternating between hot stones smoothed by the sun and immersion in cool mountain waters, a simple but powerful practice to regenerate body and mind. In winter, experts and those who have been practicing this type of activity for a long time can try natural cryotherapy: immersion in the icy waters of the well followed by the regenerating heat of the sauna, or vice versa. An intense experience that combines ancient traditions and modern wellness practices. An oasis of tranquility with all the comforts Although we are off the beaten tourist track, thanks to the Ticino Ticket that we offer free of charge, you can easily reach all the most popular destinations in the region by public transport, and then return to the peace of our village. Created with vision and respect Carefully transformed by architect Davide (a native of the Blenio Valley) and artist-sculptor Clara (originally from Osogna), the house tells a story of unconventional choices, creative solutions, and courage in preserving what others would have demolished. Guest access The house at the waterfall is part of the Casatonda and wine and beer house, as an annex. Guests have a small self-service shop with local products located on the ground floor of the wine and beer house adjacent to the house at the waterfall. Local products are for sale (fresh bread, butter, honey, handmade prepared meals, pasta, sauces, homemade ice cream, salads, cheeses, organic eggs). The sale of good local wine and craft beer is located in the basement area of the house. From December to the end of May, we offer our guests a room with a sauna for moments of relaxation (Fr. 30 for an hour for two people). Outside, in the village square, we have tables and a beautiful stone bench for eating outside or relaxing with a drink or an aperitif. On the cellar floor of the wine and beer house, we have a laundry room (drying rack outside) and the area for recycling (glass, pet, aluminum and paper). The waterfall and swimming pool are steps from the house. Free laundry upon request Other things to note I would like to point out that on the lower floor there is also a small apartment that I rent for vacations. The house is not very acoustically insulated, so I ask you to be careful not to make too much noise after 10 p.m. and before 8 a.m. so as not to disturb the guests staying above you. I told them to do the same with the guests upstairs. If there are any problems in this regard, please let me know immediately so that I can intervene. Thank you for your understanding. Our village has the distinction of being in close contact with beautiful river waterfalls with fresh and transparent water that descend from the steep rocky mountains that form the backdrop to the beautiful historic center. In our village, our guests can enjoy the following services: GROTTO AL POZZON, open only during the April-October period, an authentic Ticino Grotto that serves local products and is located near the beach area with a visible waterfall. You will be served by our DUCCIO, an authentic host who cares deeply about the freshness of the local products offered. Only cold products such as cold cuts, roast beef, dried meat, alpine cheeses and salads (no pasta, pizza, etc.), please note you only pay with cash! BAR DEL GIOVAN typical original 1960s coffee bar with the equally original host GIOTTO (possibility of full breakfast for 10 francs) PIZZAMANIA, a takeaway pizzeria where we can guarantee the authenticity and goodness of its pizzas and the kindness of NICOLA. SAPORÈ in Lodrino, takeaway and delivery pizza and burgers In our accommodations we provide basic: -shampoo and shower gel, oil and vinegar, salt and sugar -sheets, towels and dish towels for the kitchen For coffee, we have a Bialetti moka coffee maker and a filter coffee maker. Also in the self-service area on the ground floor you will find an espresso machine for a fee (2.50 francs per coffee). A five-minute drive away you will find Biasca with everything you need to shop, and 15 minutes away you will find Bellinzona, a beautiful quiet town with a nice market on Saturday mornings and three castles recognized by UNESCO. It is also a suitable location for taking beautiful walks. In the area we also have rock with routes for sport climbing, stones for boulder lovers and beautiful rivers for canyoning. We try to offer a very high quality of cleanliness and services, so we rely a lot on the cooperation of guests to take care of our accommodation. Every effort by guests allows us to offer the best at a suitable price. We therefore invite you to want to experience the house as if it were your own and report any problems.
