Surrounded by peaceful forest this picturesque retreat is only 1hr30 from NYC and less than 2hrs from Philly! A sunny deck overlooks the lake and backyard filled with wildlife. This cottage has been designed with warm, stylish touches that emphasize comfort and relaxation. Enjoy a cozy fireplace, steamy hot tub, plenty of games, fast wifi, kayaks, SUPs. Minutes away: Shawnee Mountain(skiing),Breweries&Wineries, golfcourses and the Delaware National Rec area (hiking, biking, river excursions)! The space This cottage is owned and operated by our little family👪. It looks and feels like a real home because it is our home away from home :) We hope you enjoy it as much as we do. It sleeps a maximum of 8 but is ideal for 6 (7th/8th guests are an additional $50- this allows us to rent our cottage at a reasonable price point for smaller groups). We have extra towels and sheets if needed. Please request if you need to use the washer/dryer in the utility closet. This property includes security features, such as smart locks and exterior Ring security cameras for your safety and peace of mind (Cameras are on the doorbell & facing but not looking into the downstairs door and upstairs back doors). ADDITIONAL INSTRUCTIONS AND RULES IN "HOUSE RULES" SECTION. Guest access Guests have access to the entire property, the lake, the playground a few houses down as well a private hiking trail which starts at the playground and continues up the ridge line (across the lake) and ends in a maintained picnic area at the other side of the lake. The entire home is available to guests with the exception of the following: • a locked closet in the bunk bedroom. That is privately used to store the host's items. • Utilities area in downstairs bathroom is locked. • Storage Closet for Cleaner's items is locked but washer/dryer side remains open for guests that need. • The outside shed is also locked but water related items like floats (based on availability) and fishing poles will be left out upon request. Other things to note Because this cottage is also our second home and due to recent issues in the area we are not accepting newly created Airbnb profiles. Special exceptions can be made at our discretion and are subject to additional security deposit/damage waiver through Truvi -- TRASH - service is Friday evening. Bins located by the street next to our driveway. Guests will need to bring their own firewood for the fireplace. If any wood is available outside this may be used for the outdoor fire pit but we advise guests bring their own in case there isn't seasonal wood available. For longer stays, if you require laundry service or towel replenishment (for a small fee), or use of washer/dryer (free), please let us know in advance. The road to our cottage (while beautiful) is not paved, during icier months it is advisable to use a vehicle with 4 Wheel Drive. Upstairs and Downstairs Living areas are controlled with the silver remotes located in each room. Sun icon = Heat Snowflake icon = AC. The upstairs and downstairs living room units are connected to wifi and have eco settings which may default back to a comfortable temp range (68-72 degrees) during prolonged periods of heavy usage. Please note the Bunk bed room does not have a split unit system, it has a space heater and can be outfit with a window fan in the warmer months if desired. If you are staying for more than a few days, additional chlorine is available for the hot tub in the cabinet downstairs next to the mini fridge. Please cover the hot tub when not in use. The cover folds up and can be placed to the right of the tub. While there are adult life preservers for use, we require that life preservers for CHILDREN be purchased by guests. CAUTION / LIABILITY WAIVER - Our home is a rustic, rural home. There are various hazards to this environment both naturally occurring and man made. Please take caution. By renting this property you acknowledge the inherent risks associated with this property and accept full liability for your stay, as well as use of the property and amenities including but not limited to the lake, hiking trails, kayaks, wood chopping axe, paddleboards, firepit, fireplace, Stone steps, sloped terrain, snow/icy conditions etc.
