Salamander Chalet

Enjoy the peace, the view and the comfort of this stylish chalet. Very suitable as a romantic getaway or relaxing in nature with your family. We are at 650 meters altitude, in a hot summer it is always a little cooler than in the valley and with a breeze, very pleasant. At night, the lake cools down and it's a good night's sleep. We don't need air conditioning. Dogs are welcome, €15 per stay. For the winter, there is a wood-burning stove. We provide a wheelbarrow with firewood for €15. The space The chalet has an open space with an open kitchen unit where the round dining table with a bedstede behind it that can be used as a sofa or as a bed (1.20), a wood-burning stove for the winter months. On the upper floor there is a mezzanine with king bed (30cm mattress) with the most delicious bed linen (Egyptian cotton) and a cozy seat with windows on the backside from which you have unobstructed views of the Pyrenees. On the lower ground floor is the shower with toilet and sink. Of course, there are towels. Guest access Facilities: supermarket, a bakery, butcher, post office and cafes and a restaurant can be found in Chalabre, 10 minutes' drive away, 20 minutes' drive away is the lake of Montbel where you can swim, sail, rent canoes and fish. 40 min drive from Carcassonne and 1.5 hours drive from Toulouse and 20 min from Mirepoix. Views of the Pyrenees from the estate, and we live along the GR7, so there are many hiking opportunities. We live at an altitude of 650m in the middle of nature, in the evening you will see a clear starry sky in clear weather and experience only the deafening sounds of nature. Other things to note There is an information folder about the area. This chalet can be rented at a discount in the off-season for a longer period (min 1 month), ask us about the possibilities and how long you want to stay. The chalet can possibly be rented together with the safari tent that is 70m away, the safari tent has a large outdoor table with a fire pit to eat together.
