Suite 8-Humboldt Bay Social Club

Suite 8 is one of the larger guest suites at Humboldt Bay Social Club—a boutique hotel, bar, restaurant, and event space nestled along the shores of Humboldt Bay. Ideal for solo travelers, couples, or small families, the suite sleeps up to four with a king bed and sleeper sofa. The suite features a spacious private bathroom with a clawfoot soaking tub and walk-in shower, plus a kitchenette equipped with a mini-fridge, microwave, and pour-over coffee setup. The space This suite is part of Humboldt Bay Social Club, located at the historic Samoa Field—a former WWII airfield and blimp base. We’ve restored the officer’s quarters into four boutique hotel suites and converted the old hangar into a bar and event space. Guests have full access to the Social Club grounds, including picnic tables, grills, cornhole, a cedar sauna, and our Lobby Bar and Jetty Restaurant during open hours (check signs or our website for the latest). We’re tucked between the Pacific Ocean and Humboldt Bay on the Samoa Peninsula—just a short drive from Arcata and Eureka, but it feels like a world away. Nearby, you’ll find beach access points, the Samoa Boat Ramp, and the Samoa Dunes Recreation Area. It’s a slice of Humboldt—wild, beautiful, and laid-back. Guest access Guests have full access to the grounds of the Social Club, including picnic tables, grills, and cornhole games, and our cedar sauna. Guests also have access to the Lobby Bar and Jetty Restaurant during open hours. Please check the signs on the door, or our website for current hours. Other things to note BEACH SUPPLIES Each Social Club unit is equipped with beach supplies—towels, a cooler, and an ice bucket. We also have folding chairs available—just let us know and we’ll be happy to provide them for you. Enjoy! CEDAR SAUNA Our cedar sauna is located next to the Club House on the Social Club grounds. It’s a cozy, hand crafted sauna perfect for relaxing, detoxing, and warming up after a chilly day. The sauna is free for Social Club guests and available daily from 11am to 8pm. You can book your session online at our website or with our bartenders in the Lobby Bar. Please be mindful of other guests and keep noise to a minimum during your session. In the Social Club’s Lobby Bar and Jetty restaurant, we sell a curated collection of items to enhance your bathing experience. We highly recommend visiting our retail areas. PROVISIONS BOX When you book a room at the Social Club, we like to start things off right—with a wooden box full of local love. You’ll find pour-over coffee, granola, non-dairy yogurt, beef jerky, gummy bears, chocolates, caramels, and a drink voucher good for two drinks in our Lobby Bar. We’ve also tucked in a linen bag for your laundry or beach worn clothes. . Everything in the box—and in the refrigerator—is complimentary. Just enjoy. SOCIAL CLUB LOBBY BAR AND JETTY RESTAURANT The Lobby Bar and Jetty Restaurant at Samoa Field is open to the public and guests of Samoa Field. The Lobby Bar serves beer, wine, craft cocktails, as well as Humboldt Bay oysters by the bag, picnic provisions, and s’mores fixings. Jetty serves an evolving menu of coastal comfort food, including fresh salads, paninis, and bowls. Guests are welcome to use our outdoor picnic area to grill their own oysters, play cornhole, or just relax in Adirondack chairs and enjoy the view.
