Occupied continuously as a Farm House until 1970 when it fell vacant, The Widow Donaldson's Place has been painstakingly restored to original, evolving into one of the best preserved and largest log cabins still standing. Located in Fort Loudon, PA, there is much to see and do. - You are within a mere mile of two frequented tourist sites; the restored 1756 British outpost, constructed to protect local settlers, and the popular Goldfish Barn Wedding Venue Events Center, where "I Do's" abound. - Our cabin is conveniently located to many Civil War sites and battlefields; Gettysburg, Antietam, Harpers Ferry, to name but a few. - Within a short drive you will also find Whitetail Mountain Ski Resort and Golf Course as well as the Penn National Golf Club for winter and summer activities. - Don't pass by our numerous country roadside fruit and vegetable stands without stopping to enjoy their fresh goodness. We have wifi and wifi boosters throughout the house so you can stay connected. - Ceiling Heights: Built centuries ago, so it has some cozy historic ceiling heights on the second floor - Stairs and floors: The original staircases leading to the second and third floor are steeper and narrower than today's standards. The original wood planks are stable and a little uneven from settling over the last hundreds of years.
