Designed for tranquility and relaxation, this adults-only retreat is located in the above the jungle canopies within the mountains of Uvita. A 4X4 SUV is required to reach our hotel as our mountain road is steep. The space Mariposa (butterfly) is an upper-ridge casita with soothing partial ocean views peeking out over the jungle canopy. On a clear day you can see the Osa Peninsula, home of the magnificent Corcovado National Park. Inspired by the region’s abundant wildlife and jungle plant life, each casita was meticulously designed with its own distinctive vibe and vista. Our four casitas represent a playful marriage of posh comfort in an inspirational setting. Most furnishings are hand-crafted by a local builder (“mueblero”) using Costa Rica’s famous Teak and Guanacaste hardwood, which are moisture and bug resistant. Your well-appointed private casita sleeps two, featuring a king-size bed with elegant linen and a private bathroom with open air shower. From the balcony, each casita offers its own unique and stunning vista. Whether you prefer jungle, mountains, cloud forest, or partial ocean views, we have a casita just for you. Enjoy the view from your oversized teak rocker with a cup of coffee or glass of wine. All rooms contain Keurig coffee maker, complimentary coffee, toaster oven, service ware, safe, and ceiling fans. Bathrooms feature top quality towels, shampoo, conditioner and body wash plus hair dryer and retractable clothesline. One dedicated parking space is provided for each casita. The local adventure playbook includes everything from ocean water sports, surfing, kayaking and paddle boarding to nature hikes, horse-back and ATV rides, ziplining and mangrove river tours. Or spend the day at the resort relaxing at the pool, practicing yoga, or indulging in an in-room massage. We can arrange a massage therapist or even a private chef to provide a cooking demonstration. Come and unwind… Come and explore… all while experiencing breathtaking vistas of verdant mountains and a lush jungle canopy melding together with the captivating sights and sounds of Costa Rica’s incredible wildlife. During your stay you can experience the heart and soul of Nature's Edge Boutique Hotel known as “Terraza de Alma”. Here you will enjoy an outdoor deck jetting out into the jungle, multiple seating areas, luxurious saltwater pool, and a modern outdoor kitchen perfect for preparing your own meals while taking in the vast rainforest oasis. Your casita is your own space with a private deck/patio, bathroom, kitchenette, and amazingly comfortable king size bed. Terraza de Alma is a shared space with a full outdoor kitchen, living room, lounge chairs, jungle deck and saltwater pool. We are a small boutique hotel and will never have more than 8 guests staying with us at one time. A 4X4 SUV with low gear is required as our mountain road is steep. Other things to note IMPORTANT - Our well-maintained road mountain road is only accessible with a 4X4 SUV with 4L. You cannot make it up the mountain without a 4X4.
