Other things to note Bedrooms/Privacy The two upstairs bedrooms are in a lofted, open-air layout (not fully enclosed). This makes the space feel bright and airy, but privacy is limited. Dogs We are proudly dog-friendly! 🐾 That said, if you have allergies or would be bothered by the possibility of finding a stray hair, this may not be the best fit. Nature Our cabin is surrounded by trees, a lake, and wildlife, which means insects (like spiders) or critters (like mice) may occasionally be around. We use professional preventative services, and most guests never notice pests indoors, but we are in their habitat. If the chance of seeing a critter would spoil your trip, our cabin may not be right for you. Winter Access A 4-wheel drive vehicle is strongly recommended in the winter. The long driveway is plowed after major snowfalls, usually in the early morning (2–3 AM), which may cause some noise depending on the weather. Firewood We provide FREE firewood! A starter supply is stacked inside, and you’re welcome to refill from the woodshed if you run out. Lake Access Water levels are highest in spring/early summer, with beautiful lake views. By mid-summer, the reservoir drops, and the shoreline becomes marshy. The lake is not easily swimmable from the property, though winter snowshoeing right out onto the lakebed is a guest favorite. Climate The cabin has central heating and a wood stove for cozy winter nights. There’s no A/C, but several fans are provided, and the cool mountain air keeps the space comfortable in warmer months. Dishes & Grill There is no dishwasher. Please wash and return the dishes clean for the next guests. We also ask that you clean the gas grill after use (available summer/fall only) to help keep cleaning fees lower for everyone. Décor Our cabin has a rustic, mountain lodge style with real deer hides, antlers, and an elk mount. If hunting-themed décor is not your preference, please keep this in mind.
