Just a 5min/$1US route-taxi ride from downtown Montego Bay, this affordable, private, studio offers AMAZING views of hills; city; sea & sunsets! 15min from airport; a world away the hustle and bustle. Relax & unwind at this accommodation with a former super host (lost my status due to a long pandemic closure), dedicated to making your personalized vacation as amazing as possible. Airport pick-up & drop-off and other services available! Former luxury hotel converted to condos. Unit has 2 sides: the rental studio and the adjacent apartment/host’s home. Studio is completely separate, clean and cool (powerful floor fan; AC not needed). The studio features a private entrance; small hallway; full bathroom (hot water); private space on the extended verandah; and a large main room with ample closet space, built-in shelves, and a safe. Queen size bed with quality, mattress. Kitchenette features fridge with separate freezer. , small appliances (microwave/ toaster/ tea kettle), a large coffee pot and, plus essentials to prepare simple meals. A table, chairs, a lounger and ashtray equip the breezy balcony for eating, view-gazing, sun-worshiping and smoking, respectively. Small intimate shared seating areas outside as well. Grounds are very well lit and the entire unit is screened and grilled for your comfort and security. A clothesline located at the far end of the verandah and pins are available for your use. Please see the "getting around" section (under the map) to learn about local transportation, entertainment, beaches, etc. Your private entrance leads to a self-contained bachelor/studio apartment. Off the main room is a large, security-grilled balcony (shared with host - see "The Space"). There are common seating areas outside and a free parking lot. (SEE PICTURES) The amount of interaction we have is totally up to you. Unless you have an issue, you need never see me if that is your preference. Thanks! :-) The studio sits atop the highest free-standing hill in Montego Bay, in a residential community - restaurants, stores, etc are downtown. You can sometimes see and hear neighbours going about their daily lives from the balcony. The well-lit building and grounds are private. The views and relaxed vibe are definitely the best things about this bnb, which is better suited for independent travelers looking to experience local culture and save money rather than tourists who expect to be pampered. Public transportation (route taxi or shared taxi) can be caught at the end of the driveways and it's just a 5 minute drive to the city centre/downtown. From there you can walk to everything Montego Bay has to offer - nightlife, restaurants, cultural centre/museum, historic buildings, 2 craft markets, a park, 2 paid & 2 free beaches, souvenir shops, Margarittaville (which has a 3-story water slide & ocean playground) and more. Route Taxis are a huge money-saver over private cabs but I can also arrange for private transportation at approximately $15US per trip within the city. Jamaica is - by nature - a noisy place. The studio is in a quiet, residential community but you may hear some noise, especially barking dogs and music. Very rarely sound systems get loud and play late.
