Description

Wake up to uninterrupted sunrise views and unwind with breathtaking sunsets in this private prairie escape. Designed for peace, connection, and comfort—with a hot tub, cozy spaces, and nature all around you. Escape the noise and reconnect with what matters most. Tucked into the rolling prairie bluffs of eastern South Dakota, Spring Valley Stays Cabins offer a rare kind of quiet—where wildlife roams, sunsets stretch for miles, and time slows down. The space Peaceful prairie cabin designed for rest, connection, and wide-open views—perfect for couples, small families, or a quiet getaway. Enjoy a private setting with abundant wildlife, a 4-person hot tub under the stars, Blackstone grill, outdoor dining, high-speed WiFi, and Smart TV. Dog-friendly (with approval), offering a secluded escape that still keeps you within driving distance of Sioux Falls. Inside, the cabin features a cozy, open layout with a queen bedroom, twin-over-twin bunk beds, and a loft hangout space—ideal for kids or relaxing. A simple kitchenette and dining table for four make it easy to enjoy meals in, while the full bathroom with shower and provided essentials ensures a comfortable stay. Step outside to take in endless sunrise and sunset views, unwind in Adirondack chairs, and enjoy true quiet with no city noise. Located near Canistota, this unique retreat offers a slower pace and a chance to fully reset—professionally cleaned and hosted for a seamless, memorable stay. Guest access You will have access to the entire second cabin and the land immediately around the cabin. You are welcome to adventure down to the river as the property is owned by the owner of the cabins. However, there is a barbed wire fence and there may be cows in the field. So, please only venture down there at your discretion. Inside the cabin, please do not access the storage totes under the twin beds and the tote in the loft that are labeled "No Guest Access". Storage space is limited inside the cabin and we expect that you respect our items that are stored for our turnover cleaning process only. Other things to note Cabin The cabin comfortably sleeps four guests. Additional guests are not allowed. The only exceptions would be an infant that can occupy a pack n' play and any guests that have paid to use the camper hookups as an additional fee and service. The cabin features a lot of natural, exposed wood, which may cause slivers, stubbed toes, or scrapes from sharp edges. Guests with limited mobility might find the small spaces challenging to navigate. The lofted area can be hazardous for infants and young children; you can move the ladder in the loft to prevent access, if needed. Activities Hunting is not allowed on the property at any time. Fishing is permitted at the creek, but it requires a walk to reach. Enjoy activities such as playing games, drawing, writing, listening to music, meditating, relaxing in the hot tub, taking small walks in the prairie, and observing wildlife. A quick 8 minute drive will bring you to East Lake Vermillion where there is public access to a beach, fishing docks, restrooms, volleyball court, picnic tables and a shelter. Resources The nearest town is about 10-15 minutes away and has limited services. Any services you may need will require a 10+ minute drive. Our guidebook includes recommendations for local bars and restaurants. Bugs You will encounter bugs during your stay, both inside and outside the cabin. Expect to see spiders, mosquitoes, flies, and various other insects native to South Dakota. While we provide bug spray, we highly recommend bringing your own for added protection, seasonally. Wildlife During your stay, you may encounter various wildlife. In the field, you might see cows, snakes, raccoons, coyotes, foxes, rabbits, prairie dogs, and more. Remember, we are in their natural environment, so please be mindful and respectful of their space.
