La casa blanca is the highest place on the quite mountain at the best area of Taganga in a tranquil area away from the noise of town. The climb up to the house from the road is a challenge with suitcases and it is not suitable for people with mobility problems, nor ideal for the weak or very old. However, the climb is worth it for the view, and good exercise for those who like to keep in shape. The walk down from the house to the beach of Taganga is only 10 minutes. In the town you can enjoy the ancient Taganguero fishing culture, eat the typical local dish: snapper with patacones and coconut rice, enjoy beer or cocktails in the local restaurants on the boardwalk and listen to the vallenato music. You can reach Playa Grande, or the beaches of Tayrona Park in the boats that leave every day from Taganga beach. Wake up each morning as the peaceful mountainside is interrupted by the wild mountain birds and cockerels. Watch the morning sun bounce off the bay, calm as a lake at the break of day. The house is surrounded by nature and birds, which you will hear in the morning. It’s an ideal place to rest, not too far from the noise of the town but hidden away in nature, especially when the base of the Sierra Nevada Mountains is green, after the rains. The house really does have the best view in the whole town of the spectacular Taganga sunsets! The best experience you can have in the house is to enjoy the famous and most spectacular sunsets of Taganga from the terrace of the house! There are two very friendly cats that live in the house. For dinner there are several restaurants in Taganga, or Santa Marta historical center is just 10 minutes by taxi. If you like, you can even order takeaway direct to the house from local restaurants or have fish delivered from the fishmongers on the beach and cook for yourselves on the grill. It has a parking space available before arrive to the house. The house is on the hill so it's necessary to climb stairs to get to the house which allows a beautiful view of Taganga bay. Be aware that the 10 minute walk/climb from Taganga beach, (at times up steep stairs), is challenging to those with health issues, but good excercise for those who enjoy keeping fit, and a fair exchange for the amazing view.
