THE BLUE HOUSE is only 1 ½ hours from Juan Santa Maria International Airport in San Jose, Costa Rica (SJO). If you are planning to drive from the airport, the new highway will take you on an enjoyable trip with amazing views of the mountains and down to the beach. We will provide you all the directions to get to your destination. Attractions and activities: Playa Hermosa is one of the most famous surfing beaches in Costa Rica, producing a world class wave. In Playa Hermosa you can find a few small restaurants. We recommend VIDA HERMOSA. They have the best refreshing smoothies, and a variety of delicious meals while siting just a few feet from the beach! In Jaco, 12 km North (7 miles) you can find pretty much everything you need. There is grocery stores, banks, Clinics, Spas, beauty salons, pharmacies, many restaurants to choose from (we recommend sushi at Tsunami), casinos, juice bars, mail office, Gyms, Bakeries, souvenir shops… etc… Or just stay at home and enjoy a cup of coffee on your porch, as you watch the monkeys jump from tree to tree around you. Or maybe go for a walk, or even for a swim at the waterfall a mile down the road. If you are looking for activities, to do during your stay at THE BLUE HOUSE. This one is the smallest one of all, with 1 bedrooms - 1 bath. The entrance to this property is also shared with the other homes. There is usually always someone on the property, which makes it very secure. We have a BBQ area and a beautiful wooden deck lounge area with hammocks, swinging chairs and a breathtaking ocean view. All our guests are welcome to use both areas to relax and enjoy the view. We do not have a washer and dryer for guests to use, but we do offer Laundry service for an additional fee (when staff is available). There is usually always someone at the property, which makes it very secure. We are also around usually at least once a day. But if you need anything you can reach us by phone or by email at any time as well. THE BLUE HOUSE is located 5km (3 miles) from the beach (Playa Hermosa). At the beach you will find a few restaurants and a couple mini markets. Everything else you will find in the town of Jaco which is 12 km (7 miles) North from the Blue house. Make sure you bring more of these items or anything else you might need during your stay ! Wildlife and surroundings: Monkeys are typically around in the early mornings or late afternoon. You can also buy some bananas at the local market and leave them on the suspended bridge for the monkeys to enjoy. The toucans and macaws are around every day as well. In green season there is a small creek that runs under the suspended bridge (the one you see on the pictures), which turns into a small waterfall. Enjoy a delicious cup of costarican coffee while sitting on the wooden deck, and relax listening to these enjoyable sounds of nature while watching the sunset over the ocean...This is what PURA VIDA really means!
