About Private Hosting Cleaning is done with care by local helpers, not professional hotel staff. While we strive for cleanliness, those with extremely high standards may not be fully satisfied. The house follows traditional Japanese sizing—it’s cozy, and while the bedrooms are functional, spaces like stairs and hallways may be narrow or steep. Instead, we hope you'll enjoy the vast, open view of Lake Biwa right in front of you. 2. Before You Book As a privately managed home, we cannot offer hotel-like perfection or excessive services. Please stay with a thoughtful, respectful attitude toward other guests, neighbors, and the property itself. 3. House Rules Strictly no smoking indoors. A designated outdoor smoking area is available. Please keep quiet after 10 PM to respect our neighbors and maintain a peaceful environment. 4. For a Comfortable Stay by the Lake To help you enjoy the natural lakeside environment, we recommend bringing the following items: Beach sandals – Perfect for exploring the lake and nearby areas Insect repellent & mosquito coils – Especially useful during summer Swimsuits – Great for lake activities Life jackets – Lake water has less buoyancy than seawater; for safety, we recommend using them during water play 7. Summer Nights & Insects Light attracts insects at night, especially in summer. Please keep screens, windows, and curtains closed to prevent bugs from coming in. 8. Balcony Camera For security purposes, a surveillance camera is installed on the balcony. No indoor areas are monitored, so your privacy inside is fully respected. 9.
