The Showa-period property uncovers the layers of Tajimi’s rich ceramic history and is decorated with ceramics from the Jomon period, to tea ceremony ceramics, and contemporary ceramic art. The space Steps from Tajimi’s historically significant Oribe Street and near restaurants and cafes, Kintsugi House is on a quiet street in the heart of town, a 13-minute walk to Tajimi JR train station and a 2-minute walk to the nearest grocery store. Tajimi is an undiscovered hidden gem nestled in the mountains of Gifu, ideal for lovers of Japanese design and culture. Guest access The property is fully private. The entire two-storey house is exclusively available for guests. No part of the property is shared with your hosts or other guests. However, the property shares a wall with the house next door, so we would appreciate it if guests could keep noise levels down, especially after 10 p.m. Other things to note ACCESS Tajimi is 30 min from Nagoya station by train. Luggage storage lockers are available at Tajimi station From Chubu Aiport (Centrair, Nagoya), Tajimi is 1 hour by car. Is parking available? There is no parking space at Kintsugi House. Coin parking is available nearby at Tajimibashi Parking Lot (Oribe Street). As standard in Japan, there is no street parking in Tajimi. Are bicycles available? Rental bicycles are available from Oribe Street near Gallery Voice. Is there a laundry service? Kintsugi House has a washing machine and clothes drying rack for your convenience. For assistance with dry cleaning services, please contact our staff. Is the property non-smoking? Kintsugi House is non-smoking. Please be respectful of our kind neighbours. Is the property accessible? There is a flight of stairs inside the two-storey property and one single step after the entrance on the lower level. If you have specific accessibility questions, please contact us. Is the property child-friendly? Yes, we welcome all members of your family and a high chair and stroller are available upon request.
