Malaga Island Room
The Captain Morrill House, circa 1902, offers dramatic views of Casco Bay from each of the three guest rooms: Bay View, Malaga Island and Reading Room. MÁLAGA features wall texts telling the disturbing story of the destruction in 1912 of the mixed-race community on nearby Malaga Island. The Reading Room is the quietest guest room and offers many books to discover and peruse. Each room is equipped with ceiling fan and windows open to off-shore breezes! Guests are invited to share the Victorian living room on the first floor. There is a great deal of original art displayed throughout the house. In addition, guests are encouraged to visit the two first floor rooms dedicated to local history displays, books on coastal Maine and examples of Indigenous basketry. Guests will be met by the home owner/ host between 3:00 - 9:00. The host lives on the premises. He or a designated family member will always be available to resolve any unforeseen problems. There is a 2-night minimum stay in effect.
