At Chicory Hill, we go beyond standard turnover practices by laundering all duvet covers, living room throw blankets, and throw pillow covers between every guest, along with all bed linens and pillowcases. ENJOY AN ENSUITE BATHROOM IN ALL THREE BEDROOMS Chicory Hill has three suites, each with a new, luxurious ensuite bathroom. •The primary, main-floor bedroom has a King bed, a stunning walk-in shower with a tile surround and rain shower head, and a double vanity. •The large, second-floor King suite has a King bed and a full-sized daybed. This suite also features a brand-new tile shower with a rain showerhead and a double vanity. •The second-floor Queen suite has a Queen bed and a newly remodeled bathroom with a tub/shower combination and a gorgeous single vanity. •The main floor also has a powder room. YOUR LITTLE TRAVELERS WILL LOVE THE ONE-OF-A-KIND, WISCONSIN-THEMED, NATURAL PLAY AREA At ChicoryDoorCounty, we think vacationing with kids should be fun, not stressful. We’ve created a unique, natural outdoor play area including a real sunken rowboat for pretend play, a dry riverbed, a pea-gravel truck/digging area, and an adorable barn playhouse with hand-carved wooden farm animals to “feed”. OUTDOOR AMENITIES Chicory Hill has a large backyard with an amazing outdoor space for your enjoyment: •A large wood-burning fire pit with seven Adirondack chairs and complimentary firewood •An original farmhouse covered (open) back porch with a bistro table and seating •Patio dining table with seven chairs located under our covered, open-air gazebo •Propane fire table with patio seating - propane provided •Gas grill with propane provided •Access to detached garage, which contains marshmallow forks and outdoor games, including Corn hole, Ladder Golf, and Yardzee. Our garage is old and small. It is not suitable for vehicle parking. MORE DETAILS ABOUT CHICORY HILL Our home is a classic Door County farmhouse that underwent a complete restoration and remodel in 2024. The space is two stories and 2,200 feet. •Seven guests maximum - due to one of our beds being a daybed, a maximum of six adults permitted. •Our new modern kitchen has a dishwasher, induction stove, and refrigerator/freezer with ice maker. The kitchen is fully equipped. •Large dining table with seating for seven guests •Indoor gas fireplace •Central heating and air conditioning •Washer and dryer on main level (free) •Record player and vinyl music library •Five Roku smart TVs (One in each bedroom, one in the living room, and one in the basement game room) •Complimentary streaming app for live, local television, cable channels, and sports • High-speed internet. (Due to the rural nature of Door County, Wi-Fi and cell phone coverage and service can vary.) •Three parking spots maximum in driveway (Village-controlled and enforced maximum.) There is no garage access for vehicles. •No pets, fireworks, firearms, smoking, tobacco, or vaping allowed on property. We supply one small, travel-size shampoo, conditioner, and body wash per full bathroom. We recommend guests bring shower essentials for stays longer than two nights. IMPORTANT DETAILS WE’D LIKE TO MENTION •Chicory Hill is located on the south end of Sister Bay, not far from Pirates Cove Adventure Golf. Guests may hear laughter, joy, and music while using our home's outdoor spaces. Like most locations on our peninsula, some vehicle noise will be heard outside. We have a six-foot privacy fence and a tree line in our backyard, adjacent to our outdoor entertainment space. •We have a couple of reviews in which guests mention that our home is "walkable" to downtown Sister Bay. While this is technically true, guests should be aware that there is a large, long hill leading into downtown from our home. This may present difficulty when walking back to Chicory Hill for some guests. South Sister Bay locations, including Peach Barn Brewery, Johnson's Fun Park, Pirates Cove mini-golf, and Piggly Wiggly Grocery Store, are an easy walk from Chicory Hill. •Please note that Chicory Hill is a remodeled classic farmhouse. We have slanted ceilings near the sides of our upstairs beds. At the end of our basement stairwell, there is a small section with a slightly low ceiling height, requiring guests to duck their heads. Because we added central heating and cooling during restoration, our basement ceiling has areas that are slightly lower than modern basements. Guests taller than 6'3" may need to slightly duck in some areas. Furniture and decor may differ from the listing photos, as we strive to maintain the comfort, quality, safety, and cleanliness of our home's furnishings. Guest access Guests will have access to our entire home and yard. There are three locked rooms in the basement without guest access: one supply room, one cellar room containing our sump pump, and one mechanical room containing our furnace. Our garage is small and very old. Guests can access our garage for storage of their personal items, such as bicycles, coolers, and kayaks, etc. We supply firewood for our firepit, and propane for our fire table and outdoor grill. Our semi-circle, pull-through driveway has parking for three vehicles (village-enforced maximum). After you request to book, we kindly ask that you monitor your Airbnb messages. We will send a quick note to confirm you've read this information and do not have any questions about our process before we formally accept your reservation. Please know that these requirements are not intended to discourage bookings or create inconvenience. They are simply in place to ensure compliance with state and local regulations, meet insurance requirements, and help protect our guests, their vacations, and the property. Our goal is to provide a smooth, transparent process so you can relax and fully enjoy your stay. We require an electronically signed renter agreement and a $300 security deposit hold for all bookings. These requirements help ensure that all guests understand and follow our policies, protecting both the property and the quality of your stay. This process is fully permitted under Airbnb’s Terms of Service for software-integrated hosts, as long as it is disclosed in advance. To comply with Wisconsin state law and local short-term rental ordinances, once your booking request is accepted, you will receive a secure, encrypted link via Airbnb message. This link will direct you to: •Our point-of-contact form •A security deposit hold authorization form •Our standard rental agreement Wisconsin law requires vacation rental operators to collect the full name and contact information of all registered guests. In addition, our insurance provider requires a signed rental agreement. Our agreement is straightforward and includes: •House rules •A waiver of liability and assumption of risk •Maximum occupancy limit (7 guests) •Cancellation policy •Ordinance requirements for the Village of Sister Bay Security Deposit Details: •The $300 deposit is a credit card hold (not a charge and then refund) processed through our secure management software and credit card processor. •The hold is scheduled to process two days before arrival, and it is released after departure, provided there are no damages to address. We insure every stay for accidental damage. The security deposit hold is intended to provide protection in the rare instance of significant, intentional damage that falls outside the coverage of our damage insurance policy. •The name on the credit card must match the name of the guest who submitted the booking request. To finalize your reservation and avoid cancellation, please complete the rental agreement, point of contact form, and schedule the security deposit hold before your free cancellation period expires.
