Our cottage exudes old charm with its rustic hardwood floors and cabin-like porch, yet it has the right amount of modernity with high-speed WiFi and newer appliances. The space Our lake house offers one bedroom with a queen-sized bed and a cozy living room with a full-size mattress on a pull-out sofa. You’ll love the updated, charming aesthetic of this recently renovated home. Enjoy the outdoors while eating dinner on the back deck, sitting out by the fire pit under the stars, or enjoying a nightcap while looking at the lake on the peaceful, covered front porch. The kitchenette is equipped with a full-size sink, microwave, gas stove/oven, coffee maker, and a large refrigerator/freezer. This private lake house is perfect for couples, small families, or a small group of friends. Don’t forget to bring along your pups too. The area is perfect for enjoying the outdoors on a leisurely walk, kayaking, and more. Other things to note During your stay, we encourage you to take in the many perks of Southwest Michigan — parks, beaches, wineries and breweries, fruit picking, and fishing or kayaking down the Paw Paw River. If you’re looking to escape to a place that’s close to all the popular tourist destinations (St. Joseph & South Haven) but still far enough away to feel private and secluded, this is the perfect spot. - 1 minute to Little Paw Paw Lake - 2 minutes to 'Big' Paw Paw Lake - 10 minutes to Lake Michigan (Hagar Park/Beach) - 15 minutes to St Joseph - 15 minutes to South Haven - 45 minutes to Notre Dame Stadium ** PLEASE NOTE** Our cottage is NOT directly on the lake and does require a short walk or drive to access the water. Helen Street Beach is a public beach on Little Paw Paw Lake accessible from the LPPL public boat launch, 1 mile away. The kayaks we provide can be dropped into the water just a short walk from our place and directions and dollies are both provided for ease of transportation. If traveling with your dog(s) - please be aware that our yard is not fenced in and the neighbors do have dogs. The dogs next door are fenced in, but for your convenience we do provide a lead. While our cottage is newly remodeled, it definitely still has some *old charm,* meaning uneven floors and slanted door frames. Feedback from reviews has told us that the comfortable bed, fully-stocked kitchen, and excellent water pressure in the shower completely makes up for the quirks. That said, though, if you have a medical condition that these things may affect, we suggest you seek alternative Airbnb options for your stay. Lastly, the additional photos included in this listing are for reference only and some are taken from our primary residence (just down the street from our cottage) in order to show off Little Paw Paw Lake’s fun personality. ;) Should you choose to spend the day on the water, the activities pictured are highly recommended, however, it does require a short walk or drive to access.
