Everything you could want from a Lake District hideaway. The space This charming 17th century cottage is located in a small, tranquil village perfect for a quiet couple or family getaway. There is fantastic walking, hiking, wild swimming and cycling opportunities in the area. We are also surrounded by an abundance of traditional English pubs serving superb homemade food. Enjoy snowy winter night snoozing in front of the fire, rainy days playing our large collection of boards games or warm summers days dining al fresco in our well-maintained extensive garden. Brandywine cottage is attached to our own cottage, and we provide a warm welcome to guests and are happy to advise on some of the must-see places during your stay. We are also mindful of our guest’s solitude and peace and will always respect your space and privacy. If you are planning your trip around a special occasion, such as a mini moon, engagement or birthday, please let us know! We are happy to pop up some decorations to help you celebrate. What’s included? A brief look: Living space: Wood burner with initial logs/kindling, Smart TV with guest access for Netflix, Amazon firestick, DVD player with DVD collection, two large leather sofas, board game collection, books/leaflets on local interests and events, personal guidebook with our recommendations on where to eat and what to do in the area. Kitchen space: Double oven & grill, induction hob, microwave, Fridge/freezer, toaster, kettle, teapot, cafetiere, dining table, patio door access to the garden, welcome supplies of coffee/tea/milk/sugar/biscuits, high chair available on request. Bedroom: King-size bed, wardrobe, drawers, iron with board, hairdryer, travel cot available on request. En suite: Cubicle shower, toilet and sink, hair and body wash, hand soap. Garden: Guests have access to their own sitting/dining area. Rest of the garden is shared with the owner. *Bed linen, towels, basic toiletries and Wi-Fi included. *Parking for 1 car *Guests are kindly asked to bring their own towels if planning to swim/ kayak etc in the lake. *Please note: There is a step to get down into the property *We can only accommodate children up to 3 years old. We do not charge extra for children but if you can please let us know in advance. Other things to note Just 4 miles from the cottage is the stunning Lowther Castle, a fantastic family friendly attraction which is a must see on your visit. The cottage is also ideal accommodation for those attending a weddings at the nearby Askham Hall, Knipe Hall or Long Acre Barn.
