Enjoy a private space in a tranquil forest setting in North Corvallis. The rustic and colorful décor in our guesthouse creates a cozy and inviting atmosphere. The guesthouse is perfect for weekend getaways to Corvallis, family visits, work trips, or just passing through town. Added bonus, we just went solar! The guesthouse has an open floorplan which includes a loft space for relaxing, reading, or working. The abundance of natural light in the guesthouse gives it an open and airy feel. The back patio is a perfect spot to enjoy your morning coffee/tea or a good book in the late afternoon. The little pond and grassy area in front provide a nice refuge for birds and other animals. There is also a raised deck in the forest nearby for relaxing, yoga, or just enjoying the trees. The kitchen is outfitted and ready for your cooking and baking needs. I provide tea (black, green, mint, chamomile) and coffee (Nespresso machine with coffee pods or a simple drip). I also provide olive oil, salt, pepper, and balsamic vinegar. The access to the guesthouse entrance is around the back side of the yellow shop/garage through double French doors. When you pull into the driveway you will see a blue garage door and a blue single door. These are the entrances to the garage, which is not part of the guesthouse. Follow the short path to the right and turn left around the back of the building and you will see the covered patio and French doors. In the mudroom, the large darker door leads to the garage, which is not part of the guesthouse. The door is locked, but from the inside, so you can go out that way if absolutely necessary, but I do prefer that you do not go into that area. The other door (lighter one) is to a storage room that is also not part of the guesthouse and is locked. The guesthouse is in a separate building than my house. It has its own private entrance and shares the same building as the garage/workshop. I live in the house next door about 150 ft. away. There are trees in between the houses. You can interact with me as much or as little as you would like. I will respect your privacy and give you space while staying at the guesthouse. I am available for any questions you have or items you may need. In the summer, I usually go up to the guesthouse to water the yard and garden in the late afternoon or evening. The neighborhood is residential and very quiet and mellow. In general, the neighbors keep to themselves. Bald Hill and Oak Creek parks are very nearby for opportunities to hike and/or (mountain) bike. You can also enjoy a walk on the quiet road which provides nice views of the hills nearby. The guesthouse is best reached by car. The OSU campus is about a 12-min drive. Downtown is about 15 min away by car. The guesthouse is close enough to OSU and town that biking is also an option. **Please inquire about children, I set that it is not appropriate for children because of the ladder to the loft. My main concern is for toddler-age children, but babies and older children are fine. **In light of the Covid-19 situation, I want to assure guests that I am taking extra precautions. I always clean the guesthouse thoroughly between guests, however, to make it a safer and cleaner place for guests, I am airing out the guesthouse between reservations, I am disinfecting all surfaces that are touched, and I wear a mask and gloves while I clean. All linens are always washed between guests, but I am taking the extra step of using clean linens that were not used by the previous guest and have been stored in a clean and safe place. If you have any additional requests that relate to Covid-19, please let me know and I will do my best to accommodate. An example would be leaving the bed unmade so that I minimize my handling of the linens. The guesthouse is located about 3/4 mile up a hill on a gravel road. The cell service is very spotty in this area. The guesthouse has high-speed wireless internet and calls can be made with WiFi calling. Depending on your carrier, there is cell service in the driveway near the mailbox. If you are unable to arrive before 11 pm for check-in, please let me know and we can arrange a later check-in time. Please send a request for same-day reservations to see if I am able to accommodate. Please inquire about stays for longer than 1 month. I have a cat who is an indoor/outdoor cat. He is never inside the guesthouse, but you may see him around outside. I like to give guests a heads up that he could appear around the guesthouse. His name is Chile and he is friendly, but please don't let him into the guesthouse even if he expresses interest in entering, thanks!
