The space Sacred Ground by Tiny Away, on the outskirts of rural Ōkato, is a tiny house retreat just 40 minutes from New Plymouth city. Enjoy breathtaking vistas of Mount Taranaki and the Pouakai Ranges, with cows often grazing in the foreground. This private spot offers easy access to nearby attractions. The lush Pukekura Park is a 40 minutes drive away, Pukeiti Gardens, the the Egmont National Park is 55 minute drive away, and the Dawson Falls is over an hours drive away. You can also meet exotic creatures at Pouakai Zoo and dive headfirst into the wild heart of New Zealand. A comfortable, 190-square-foot tiny home with abundant natural bushland, easy access to water, split air conditioning, a kitchenette, cooking equipment, and excellent bathroom facilities. These amenities include an eco-friendly cassette toilet with a removable waste holding tank, hand basin, and shower (gas heated for hot showers). Please respect the surrounding area and the privacy of others. Thank you for understanding! Guest access Guests can access the tiny house and surrounding areas. You are welcome to the space around where the tiny home is placed. The property has a Geodome where we usually host yoga, workshops and retreats on occasion. If you would like to check out the Geodome while you are here or use it to do yoga or relax, just send us a message and you are welcome to use that space as well. Other things to note - Wifi is available - Pets not allowed - No BBQ Grill available - Smoking is not allowed on the property - No Drones; policies will be sent prior to booking - No unregistered guests or visitors are allowed - Mobile reception has good signals for all telco lines - Don’t forget to close the windows and lock doors when leaving the tiny house/ property - Make sure to turn off the lights, air conditioning, and electronics (e.g., especially chargers) - We would like to advise guests that longer stays or later check-outs will incur an additional charge Important note: - Keep in mind that outdoor fire pits are not available during a total fire ban - Due to the nature of the property, abundant wildlife may be present in the surrounding areas - For stays of 5 nights or more, an additional cleaning fee will be collected to help maintain the [compost/cassette] toilets and ensure a clean and fresh experience for all guests.
