Guest access Basic public transportation from Cartagena is available by boat from the Bodeguita tourist pier, with hourly departures to Boca Chica, a 15-minute walk from the house. However, we recommend considering transportation arrangements through private boats that serve the island, which we can help you coordinate so that you arrive directly at our private dock. Once on the island, everything is within walking distance. We also have a bicycle and a four-wheeled vehicle available. Locals offer motorcycle taxi services, boat rental and horses. Other things to note There are several typical oceanfront restaurants in Boca Chica, near Fort San Fernando, as well as some boutique hotels that you can walk to and spend the day for a fee. Visit Fort San Fernando and other historic sites; tour guides are available. You can also rent local boats with crew to tour the area or visit Playa Blanca and/or the archipelago of the Rosario Islands, located about 45 minutes away. It is also possible to rent horses from the islanders or use the motorcycle taxi service to explore Tierra Bomba Island. Depending on the number of days of the stay, an additional daily fee of 60 USD will be charged for the service of two collaborators in charge of cleaning and cooking, according to your needs.
