The space Enjoy a peaceful stay on 5 acres with access to the Dungeness River. Originally built by my grandparents, this home offers a serene retreat as you explore the Olympic Peninsula. Surrounded by evergreen trees planted by my grandfather, the property also boasts seasonal berries (cherries, raspberries, blueberries and hardy kiwis). A short walk through the forest leads to the Dungeness River, where you can relax on Adirondack chairs and enjoy the soothing sounds of the water while you have your morning coffee or afternoon beverage. Seasonal salmon and steelhead fishing is available in the fall. The home features two bedrooms and two bathrooms, comfortably accommodating four guests (base rental price is for four guests). ***Fold out cots and 4 inch memory foam pads are available as needed for two additional guests @ additional charge of $10/night per additional guest.*** The island kitchen is fully equipped for family meals . On cool days, the original hearthstone wood stove efficiently warms the house for hours. The large cedar deck, furnished with comfortable outdoor seating, a dining set, and a propane heater offers a perfect spot to unwind while watch deer, birds and other wildlife. A Breeo smoke free fire pit is just off the deck to enjoy a nice fire and possibly s’mores. A propane Weber BBQ is also available for the outdoor chef. High-speed internet (400mb/sec+) allows for work, browsing, and streaming, with a 300+ movie library on Vudu, HBO and live shows via live streaming service. Activities to enjoy: Located on the doorstep of the Olympic National Park, Sequim is the perfect launch pad for adventures throughout the park. Enjoy day-trips to Lake Crescent, Sol Duc Falls, Hurricane Ridge, Cape Flattery, Rialto Beach, and many more beautiful sites. Sequim is renowned for its lavender farms, with Purple Haze Lavender, Jardin du Soleil Lavender Farm, and many other lavender farms nearby. Graymarsh Berry Farm is just 5 miles away for u-pick berry experience during the summer months. Golf enthusiasts can enjoy year-round play at Sky Ridge Golf Course, just a mile away, or the more challenging Cedars at Dungeness Golf Course a few miles further. Other things to note Sequim is located in the “rain shadow” and averages over 300 days a year with at least some sunshine. With the Olympic Mountains as protection, the area only gets 16 inches of annual rainfall. About the same as Los Angeles, California. The city and the surrounding area are particularly known for the commercial cultivation of lavender, supported by the unique climate: it makes Sequim the “Lavender Capital of North America”, rivaled only in France. The area is also known for its Dungeness crab. Located on the Dungeness River, you’ll be able to enjoy access to salmon and steelhead fishing.
