Escape to nature in a unique way with our secluded, forest getaway. Nestled in the heart of an indigenous forest in the Garden Route, our dome offers a perfect blend of luxury and wilderness. Our Dome is beautifully designed for comfort, with the indulgent outdoor living space blending seamlessly with nature encouraging guests to reconnect, relax and rejuvenate. As much as we would love to welcome all, the setting isn't child friendly and definitely offers a more wonderful getaway for two. The space Included in your stay: • Self-catering, fully equipped kitchen • Complementary tea, sugar, coffee (coffee plunger provided) • Queen-sized bed • Hot water bottles (for the chillier evenings) • Fans • Linen • Towels • Bathroom with outdoor shower • Outdoor bath • Eco friendly products (shampoo, conditioner, body wash, hand soap, hand cream and kitchen cleaning products). • Peaceful Sleep mosquito cream • Fireplace (a daily allocation of wood is provided, any additional may be charged) • Small Weber braai and braai utensils • Plunge pool (not heated) • Hammock and outdoor loungers • Wi-Fi • Recycling, organic and refuse bins • No smoking in the Dome but ashtrays are provided for outside Guest access Guests are welcome to explore the forest surrounding the dome, the working flower farm and available hikes. You can get more information from your host. Other things to note The Dome is situated on a working flower farm and on arrival our guests will be greeted by the host, together with their exuberant but friendly fur family. A short walk from the car port to The Dome intentionally immerses you in a forest bathing experience and encourages you to feel grounded and to benefit from our meditative space. You will then encounter our unique blend of indoor / outdoor living, where the inside of the geodesic dome features a transparent rooftop and bay window offering a view of the forest canopy and surrounds. The indulgence continues in the living space outside: Our hand-built countertops and furnishings were purposefully constructed from alien Blackwood trees removed from the farm as part of our rehabilitation of the indigenous forest. While the forest bathing philosophy is something we live by, we have also provide a literal forest bathing experience with our lush outdoor shower and sumptuously unexpected, two-person tub. Depending on the weather and your mood, the loungers can be turned to face the pool or the fireplace on chilly days, while the hammock takes you a little further into the forest. Also outdoors, the sheltered kitchen is fully equipped with all self-catering necessities as well as some luxuries we've selected that showcase our local artisans. While The Dome is nestled under a tall canopy of indigenous Afro-montane forest, our farm is bracketed by Kurland Village to the one side and a dairy on the other. This means that despite your solitude, you might still hear the ambient sounds of the village, the cow's mooing and the dogs barking. And on some nights you might even hear the thunderous roar of the Lion across the Salt River Gorge at Tenikwa Wildlife Rehabilitation Center. Enjoy! Forest walks are available (birders remember your binoculars!) if one wishes to explore the local area, including a stroll to Nature’s Way Farmstall (highly recommended!) for meals or supplies.
