The space The House of Northern Lights is the flagship villa of Joiku Resort, offering an exceptional stay on the lakefront in Äkäslompolo, just moments from Yllästunturi Ski Resort. Completed with sustainability in mind, the property combines refined Nordic design with eco-friendly technology, including a water-air heat pump and solar power. Inside, the open-plan living area is defined by a soaring 6-metre ceiling and expansive windows that frame panoramic views of the lake, the Joiku swing, and surrounding fells. A striking architectural fireplace anchors the space, adding atmosphere in every season. The kitchen is fitted with premium appliances, a generous island for preparing meals together, and a breakfast cupboard to keep essentials close at hand. The villa accommodates up to nine guests across four bedrooms and a mezzanine. The master suite is located on the ground floor, providing direct access to the utility area and an elegant bathroom. Upstairs, three additional bedrooms share a well-appointed bathroom with a shower. The mezzanine sofa offers an extra sleeping space or a quiet corner for reading or remote work. After outdoor adventures, guests can unwind in the private sauna or enjoy the jacuzzi on the terrace, which almost hovers above the water’s edge.
