Brisbane: 3.5 hours north - Queensland's capital city with all major amenities and entertainment. Sydney: 7 hours south - perfect for planning your larger coastal adventure. Our Farm: SOLUM is a working medicinal herb farm. This means we're not always here (it's a seasonal thing) however our pet friends are. You will occasionally see cows in the bottom paddock. They're pretty friendly though we recommend a picture not a pat (they have big horns). The star of SOLUM is our Pig. She is a 10 year old duroc cross Sow and our beloved pet. Please DO NOT feed her (she is on a special diet) and look at her from afar. Pigs are beautiful animals though can get grumpy quickly. Enjoy a walk, be amazed at the sub-tropical rainforest, enjoy the wallaby's, kookaburras and bandicoots all from the sanctuary of your veranda. We look forward to welcoming you. Other things to note The property has a sensitive septic system we ask you to please use the products provided and carefully read all instructions when at the house for appropriate disposal of items into the grey water system. No kids (aged 0 -12) or pets. We kindly ask guests to respect the owners' decisions. Kangaroos and other natives frequent this property and bringing different animals into the mix, especially ones that aren't familiar around wildlife, may be distressing for our furry and feathered native friends. Solum has an unfenced dam within very close proximity to the house (10m), making it unsafe for young children. We'd be deeply heart broken if anything was to happen to someone's child or pet during their stay at Solum. If your feeling like a wander you are most welcome to wander down the road though we do ask you stay on the pathway and be aware of snakes (summer season). All linen is provided for you, including towels for the sauna. We have provided firewood for your first night’s stay (during months April – Sept only. Fires NOT permitted outside these months, indoor or out). If you intend on keeping the fire going through the day we suggest you purchase extra firewood. No weddings, getting ready parties or group functions without written consent from the owners. No commercial shoots, editorial shoots or elopements with out written consent from the owner.
