Puerta Al Mar - Ocean-Side Villa Tranquility

Puerta al Mar Beach House is a beautiful seaside villa on St Maarten’s stunning shores, offering panoramic views of the Caribbean Sea. Perfect for families, reunions, or group get-togethers, it features a stylish interior, with outdoor spaces (read: pool, hammock and yard!) for indulgence and rejuvenation, showcasing coastal living at its finest. The space We've had guests for the past year - screenshots of reviews are at the end of the pictures - please check it out. We just switched over to this platform, which is the reason for the absence of formal reviews with this specific listing. Rest assured however that everyone (and we mean EVERYONE) has enjoyed their stay with us. This property is awesome - and we're not just saying that. It's wonderfully located right on the Caribbean Sea (Pelican Cove to be specific), and minutes away from both the beach and the main drag (Welfare Road) on the Dutch side of the island. It has been fully renovated, so the finishes are fresh, clean and contemporary. Each bedroom has its own bathroom (no sharing - a HUGE plus!), and a view of the ocean. There's a wonderful patio for dining/lounging and watching the gorgeous sunsets, as well as hanging out in the pool or working on your tan. The outdoor shower also helps keep sand, mud, etc where it belongs. We even have a hammock for those lazy afternoons (naps encouraged!) and a telescope for moon and star gazing! Cruises ships pass by almost daily, and are fun to watch set out in the evening with their many lights; colorful sailboats and music-filled party boats also dot the horizon. There is also ample room in the yard for playing catch/frisbee or a game of tag. We frequently spot hummingbirds and iguanas....and of course pelicans! Bring your family or your reunion group...or just a group of friends who want some time away from the hectic routine of life.....you won't regret it! Guest access This is a single family, five bedroom house. Each bedroom has its own bathroom, plus there is a half bath/powder room conveniently located just inside the front door. There is also a kitchen, laundry room (with EXTRA fridge, sink and dishwasher), dining area, living room, and of course the patio and pool!! The pool/terrace looks out onto the Caribbean Sea. We sit on the seaside, so there are no other houses or trees between us and the water. Look forward to beautiful sunsets, lazy waves and some much needed R&R! Parking is on a private driveway/parking pad, inside the gate. Both the gate and front door have passcodes for easy access and your security. The property manager walks you through the property to give a tour and answer any questions when you first arrive. The entire property is fenced in, and you are not sharing it with any other party. Easy access at all times with a level of concierge service and security....A special welcome package also awaits you! Enjoy your stay! Other things to note We're from Washington, DC and LOVE ST MAARTEN! We fell in love the first time on the island.....it's called 'The Friendly Island' for a reason! We would love to host you while you enjoy some much needed R&R. People who have stayed have LOVED it! We recently had a couple get engaged while visiting! So romantic!! Please feel welcome and enjoy our wonderful villa! This is a fantastic place to be. It's not expensive like Terres Basses, or old but tawdry like many places in Phillipsburg. The area is very quiet at night - it's in a comfortable residential neighborhood without tons of parties or noise. It feels like you can really get away, yet you are still centrally located to the main strip on the Dutch side, restaurants/casinos, LOTS of beaches, the famous jazz piano bar, Maho, zip lining, Phillipsburg and popular French side attractions like Marigot for shopping. It's only 10 minutes from the airport, so after that tiring flight and customs lines, etc., you're practically there (unlike the east or north sides of the island). It's also not on a steep hill, which makes driving and parking much easier. Compare some of the other islands in the Caribbean (e.g., St. Thomas, St. John) and you'll appreciate what we're saying. We have attempted to think of everything you'll need while here....extra towels, games and puzzles for the kids, pool floats, extra toiletries, local recommendations for places to see and eat, and even some welcome package snacks.
