A deluxe two person stone bath perfectly positioned for complete privacy, the harbour night lights, sunrise or sunset in the company of fantails that dance around the tree canopy. This multi-sensory experience to connect with nature offers the perfect balance to rest & restore. The space The Cove Cabin is located on the beautiful Otago Peninsula at the end of a private driveway overlooking Dunedin harbour. A stone’s throw from the water’s edge and catching all day sun this place has its own micro-climate with many surrounding trees home to New Zealand’s native; kēreru (wood pigeon), pīwakaka (fantail), kōmako (bellbird) and tui. The rear of the property is full of mature trees and at the top of a lighted stairway lies your Cove Cabin Bath Experience. A deluxe, two person stone bath providing wonderful evening and morning bathing in complete privacy. PLEASE NOTE there are a number of steps up to the house from the driveway and a number of steps up to the outdoor bath. This property is not really suitable for very young children or babies. The main bedroom with a queen bed has its own deck, an awesome spot to sit and enjoy the expansive and ever changing harbour vistas. The mezzanine floor can serve as a small bedroom for extra guests. PLEASE NOTE this space is for people who can easily climb a steep ladder and walk through a smaller than normal entrance way and children would need to be competent at climbing. An adult can stand fully upright at the highest points. Also note that while the blinds provide privacy they do not stop the sound from the living/kitchen area below. The popular Dunedin cycle/walkway is right at the bottom of your driveway, so if you want to rent bikes this is a stunning loop track right around the harbour with great cafes and pubs to stop at along the way. You are only 10 minutes’ drive from many amazing coastal walks and surf beaches, the city delights and in 25 minutes ,at the tip of the Peninsula, you will find the world-renown Royal Albatross Colony – well worth a trip especially in breeding season. The Cove Cabin is a special place to refresh and renew, a world away yet so close to all Dunedin has to offer. So if you decide you’d like to come and stay we look forward to welcoming you.
